Good looking and good feeling boots. Extremely comfortable. The sizing is typical for Frye- which for me is a 1/2 size down from other brands. Easy on and off. The leather is soft and feels really good. I got the dark brown, and the color is lush and attractive. I really like these boots and will probably get another color; I just can't decide between black and cognac.

Can't say enough good things about these boots. Fit is great. Color and texture of leather is perfect. Five stars in my book. The distressed leather style did fit 1/2 size smaller than the others.

I usually wear a wide width and order a half-size up in B widths, but I ordered these a full size up- good thing, too! The length is perfect as is the width; fits like a firm handshake. These were comfortable from day one, and the distressed antique brown finish is gorgeous. These boots are beautifully made as well.

I absolutely love these boots! I read about, and agonized over, sizing issues but I am a solid 8½ and that is what I ordered and they fit perfectly.

I just received these today. They are amazing and so comfortable out of the box. I read all the reviews first before I ordered. I wear a size 10 shoe but always order an 11 boot. They are very flexible and come already worn in. I was very surprised at how light and comfy they are. The price is a bit steep but so worth it. I would say that they are a more distressed gray, than they are black. I also have a slight bunion on my feet which can make it to find boots that don't rub. There is plenty of room in the toe box. I also have skinny ankles which often makes it necessary to have my boots taken in, but these are just fine. I love Frye! I will definitely be ordering more boots from them.

This is my...seventh pair of Fryes! These boots needed only a slight break-in period and fit true to size. The burnt red color is absolutely gorgeous. I wear them with stripey socks and feel like Pippi Longstocking! Unlike other reviewers, I had no trouble with the zipper.

I read the other reviews and saw that the distressed version of these boots ran small so I ordered half a size up. When the boots arrived I was nervous because they felt super snug (like when you have to put on a sports bra and you are still kind of wet from a shower). I thought I was going to have to order another half a size up because my toes felt so tight in the left boot. Luckily my luck turned around and after wearing the boots for a few hours around the house they loosened up. They feel great now and they look amazing too. They are distressed in a "Hey, I am not brand new" kind of way. There is not too much distressing. That is nice. I was also worried that the heel would be too low because I do not like flats but they actually feel a little taller than an inch. I love these boots and I am feeling very cool right now because I am wearing them as I type. I am glad that I bought them. Half a size up was good.

It's impossible to zip the back zipper. The shoe is actually a little big on me so that is not the issue. I've tried zipping it and unzipping without my foot in it which is also difficult. When I put my foot in the boot I cannot zip it up! I have to return them...

I found these boots true to size and width, comfortable from day one; they are snug all around but not tight. They are wide enough that my leggings and skinniest jeans will fit under them, but not with much space to spare. I have the dark brown antiqued color. The leather is thick and worn in, lots of scuffing and distressing, no shine. The effect is very rugged. There is a lot of red in this brown, and when I saw them at first I checked the box to make sure that they had not sent the wrong color. Of course they hadn't (Zappos never makes mistakes); but it is a dark brown with a red base, in my opinion. (I have the black antiqued leather in another Frye boot, and that leather is worn in but without nearly as much scuffing and distressing - a very different look.) As the other reviewers wrote, the zipper is stiff. I am using a pliers to get a good grip on them and so not having a problem. I'm expecting that over time it will loosen up. Once again, another home run from Frye and from Zappos.

Brands I'd also recommend: Nothing else is like Frye.

I was unable to get this boot zipped up as I could barely get it on, hard to gauge width. Not really sure if it would be 1/2 or full size smaller. Cute boot however.

The distressed leather makes this boot a smaller fit than other Fryes of a similar cut. Had to return to get a 1/2 size bigger. Zipper is really stiff - perhaps a result of the distress process too. Otherwise, a great boot - well made, just like all other Fryes.

I bought these as my breakup boots, and I must say that even though I am heart broken, I look fabulous! I love 'em, and they felt like slippers right out of the box. These boots are truly made for walkin'.

These boots are very comfortable from day one! I also love that they don't look "new." It's the perfect boot without being too cowboy. True, the zipper is a little tough to get up and down, and I was afraid it would rub on the back of my ankle, but it did not. It's true to size.

Got these yesterday and I have been wearing them all day today. I love them. I have bought several other Frye boots (have 6 pair total) and these feel and look like I have had them for a long while. I have another new pair of Frye (veronica slouchy, I think they are called) in the regular black and they look shiny and almost too new looking.It will take years to get them looking similar to this. This black has that worn in look. I am now thinking they are my favorite. I say that almost every time I get new pair of Frye's! Thank you Zappos. I put my order in on Saturday and they got here Monday. Zappos is the best.

I love these boots! They are comfortable from the moment I put them on. Yes, the zipper is stiff, I am thinking that it will loosen up.

Boot not only looks worn in it feels that way too! It's light and so comfortable - no break in necessary. I've always had to get a wide width but this boot was not available in a wide so I ordered a B and it fits perfect! Ankle length style is super. At last! A boot I can wear year round in Florida.

I have been looking for the perfect short boot for months now and have finally found it! I have 2 other pairs of Frye boots which I love, and these do not disappoint. They have really nice construction, beautiful leather, love the details and the zipper, perfect height, everything is great. Adding some insoles would be nice for a bit more arch support, but otherwise they are really great. Buy them!
