Great leather and color, but funny fit at the top of the ankle. Did not fit or look right, especially for the price.

Gorgeous boot. Leather is supple and boot is well made. I ordered a size 8 but received a size 10 so doing the return and reorder. Bit of a drag, but can't wait to get the right size.

I love this boot! They are too big though, and don't seem to be available in a size smaller, so I'll have to return them.

This boot is beautiful! I am a true 6 1/2 and I got a 6, and it is plenty roomy with wool socks - and great with tights too. The smell of their leather is amazing, and as my other Fryes have held up beautifully, I am sure these will as well.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I've had these for a little over a month now and really love them. The leather is very soft and they are very comfortable. They seem to be breaking in very nicely, though I'm a little concerned that they will need to be resoled in the not to distant future.

These boots were absolutely beautiful and of good quality; unfortunately, they were too baggy in the ankle and I returned them. I have this problem with boots often as I have slender calves/ankles. If only they came with zippers!

Love these boots! I have larger calves and always have a problem finding boots to fit over them. I decided if these fit properly, the high price would be well worth it. They fit like a glove, even with jeans tucked in! They are gorgeous, the leather is supple and soft, and they were broken in in no time at all! I would recommend these to anyone!

I was so excited to get these boots in after I ordered them, but I was pretty disappointed. The ankle fits really weird, there is about a 2 inch gap between the front of my ankle and the boot.

What I loved about this boot is the soft leather is very comfortable (it has a padded insole), it is basic without being too plain. What I did not love is that because it us a pull-on style, the part around the ankle is very loose. Also, if you have thin calves these will probably be too baggy overall. I wanted to love them, but unfortunately had to send them back.

I purchased these for my wife as a Christmas present. The sizing was perfect, she loves the way they fit, and they look great! Construction is top quality, and they look fashionable. Best of all she loves them. What more could you ask for?

I have been searching a long time for the perfect cognac boot and today UPS delivered it thanks to Zappos lightening fast shipping. This boot is gorgeous. Beautiful leather, I am always a 7.5 and this 7.5 fits perfectly. Beautiful color. Comfy right out of the box. Didn't want to spend this much on boots, but I know Frye will last and the quality of the boot is amazing! Highly recommend to anyone obsessed with cognac boots! Love these boots.

Love. These. Boots! I ordered a half size smaller (9) than usual (9.5) as suggested by other reviews, and I'm glad I did. Some of the other reviews said that the calf was too big, but I have really small calves and these fit just fine. They don't fit super tight which I am alright with. They are just slightly slouchy as it says in the description of the boot. They are comfortable too, and I really love the craftsmanship. My only complaint is they are really slippery on the bottom. They are so versatile, and I get compliments when wearing them all the time!

I've been looking at these boots for weeks, and finally took the plunge and ordered them. They came this morning and, unfortunately, they'll be going back. They look great, the leather is of good quality, but I struggled to get them on my feet. Not sure if it's because I have a bit of a high arch. When I finally got them on they seemed to fit true to size (I ordered a 6.5, and I'm usually a 6.5 or 7) and I loved them, but I'm not prepared to struggle every time.

Nightmare. I purchase these, wore them about 6 times, and the strap on the back of the left boot popped off. I called ZAPPOS and they were awesome. They exchanged them and sent out a new pair. I should note that I'm a priority member and purchase lots and lots of stuff. I got the new pair and on the first wear I began to suspect that the diameter of the left was wider than the right, they are always lopsided. 4 wears later the leather surrounding the strap in the back tore open, revealing the lining. This product is obviously defective and Frye has been jerking me around regarding a refund... Zappos is awesome but DO NOT BUY THIS BOOT.

Love this boot! I would recommend buying this boot a half size smaller than your regular boot size. I generally wear a 7.5 and had to return it for the 7. I gave it an overall 4 stars because of the loose fitting heel. The shaft of the boot is soft (the leather is not super stiff, but that's fine with me) and well made.
