Love these! On the first wear, they hurt a bit, but by the second wear, the leather was soft enough that they were perfectly comfortable.

I heart these shoes! I saw these in an Urban Outfitters catalogue but they didn't carry my size (9.5). There are even nicer out-of-the-box than in the photos. Classy, work-appropriate but still fun! May not be a good choice for people with flat feet or who need a lot of arch support.

Cute but not comfy - These oxfords are so cute but they are stiff, tight, and need to be broken in. I wasn't sure about going up a half size or if they will feel better after they have been broken in. The look is perfect, the comfort is not. Hopefully in time.

These shoes were just what I was looking for, but when I got them, I knew I had to return them immediately. They looked great, but the toe was a solid inch past mine and the shoe itself was so narrow I couldn't lace it up. Unfortunate.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

This shoe looks better in person than on the screen. It arrived the next day after I placed the order! Even though the sole is hard, I find the shoe very comfortable, not much arch support.

These shoes are so quite. I was so disappointed when I got them. They run much narrower than the other Frye shoes I have. Unfortunately, they don't come in a wider width.

These shoes are so well made and so classy! Unlike some other Frye shoes I've tried, they also run true to size, at least for me and I wear a 9. They do seem narrow but I have narrow feet, so it's not a problem for me. The heel is also pretty loose, but thicker socks solve that, and besides, it's not that much of a problem anyway. I found them to be very comfortable with essentially no break-in time, but I'm also confident that they will continue to become softer and even more comfortable. I got them in Cognac, which is a very nice burnished tan and will go with lots of things. The dark brown or black would probably be more dressy and I may save my dollars to get them. That's how much I like these shoes! And the price was almost a deal breaker, but I do think these shoes are worth it. They are head and shoulders above most of the less expensive shoes I've seen. I think they'll last for years and that I'll get my money's worth. Highly recommended.

These shoes are very nice, but they run small. I had to return them because they hurt the back of my foot so much. If I sized up and wore them in it might have worked but I'm not risking it.

These are too long and not very comfortable. The shoe creases painfully across top of my foot when walking.

These looked great & were just what I wanted (something more feminine to wear with skirts than the Carsons with their clown foot & higher heel), but they ran too small. I ordered the same size that was perfect in the Carson oxford (which I love) -- could just barely stuff my feet into them, so I knew the next size would be too big & had to return.

When I received this Frye oxford, the quality of the shoe was obvious. Beautifully crafted... but definitely narrow. I had a hard time getting my foot in, and to be honest, a little simple/plain for my taste. I sadly returned it and am looking for a wingtip instead.

Beautiful, classic shoe, but too narrow across for the midsection of my feet, so too uncomfortable to keep. :( If only it were made a little bit wider through there...

These may be the most comfortable shoes ever! The leather is substantial but not stiff, and only took an afternoon to break in. I'm usually a size 9.5, but as with all Frye boots and shoes, the size 9 is perfect. Oh, and they are way cuter than the photos. The lines are slim, not blocky, so it doesn't look like I borrowed my husband's shoes.

These are my star-crossed lovers of the shoe world. Oh, how I love them. Rich, supple leather. Gorgeous craftsmanship. They fit like a glove (size 7, which is my usual size) and were comfortable from the first step. But, I simply could not pull them off. No matter what outfit I wore with them, they were just too manly for my feminine style. Perhaps if I were more hipster they would look less out of place. Alas, they just added an (unwelcome) element of confused to my look. Sadly I will be returning them. But I still love them and recommend trying them out for yourself!

I had these shoes for years, and then gave them away - am I sorry I did! Now I wish I had them again. Perfect shoe, for wearing with everything, especially good for dancing. Now they've become a lot more expensive than what I paid for them, but so worth every penny!

What a great pair of shoes! I've long wanted a pair of oxfords, but was holding out for one that didn't look too girlie nor too manly. I think this one is perfect for work or play, and it looks great dressed down, or dressed up for work. They felt a bit stiff during the first few wears, and they are narrow, as others have noted. I tried the 6.5 (which is my usual size) and the 7--the latter worked best. And, thanks to Zappos, the purchase/return process went better than I could have hoped!
