I love this shoe! It is true to size and the soft upper leather feels great on your foot. The color is as pictured and looks great with jeans or dressed up. I will be buying more of these shoes.

A good looking, retro inspired loafer that looks great on the foot. The front of the shoe is slightly tapered which gives it a more modern look. The leather is soft and comfy, and if Frye keeps making this shoe I will buy it in more colors. For reference, I wear a 10M, but 99.9 per cent of the time I wear a 9.5 in Frye. If you plan to wear this shoe with a heavier sock, I recommed ordering your regular size, otherwise order down one half size.

Just as the first reviewer said, if you plan to wear socks with these shoes, order a half size up. I am an 8.5 in all of my boots, including socks. I ordered them in 8.5 and they are too tight. Returning for a size 9 and they are on backorder.

These are super cute and the leather is very soft, but they run a little large. I wear a 7.5 in Frye boots. If you plan to wear these shoes with medium weight socks then you should order your regular size, but go down a half size if you are hoping to wear them without socks or with thinner socks.

These shoes are very comfy, but run a bit large and wide. I ordered an 8 and it is a little loose on my foot, but should be great with heavy winter socks. The blue color is very saturated and adds a wonderful infusion of color to any outfit.

Add This Brand to My Favorites
The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I absolutely love this shoe. If I could afford it, I'd buy a pair in every color. The fit is perfect right out of the box; the leather is soft and the sole has just the right amount of support for casual wear.

Very cute loafer. I just received the Emerald color in size 11. Because I own a few pairs of Frye boots that can be somewhat of a challenge to break in, I was skeptical. Alas, this loafer was not only cute as can be, but soft and comfortable right out the box. So if you like loafers and are looking for something that will stand out and be comfortable, this is the shoe for you!

The soles are stiff and slippery for walking. The size is right with heavy socks. I'm disappointed with the slip slide effect.

I first bought these shoes and returned them because I thought they cost too much. After months of searching for something less expensive, I realized they would be worth the money. Reordered them, and am now completely happy with my purchase. The leather is buttery soft and requires no breaking-in. Worth every dime!

These are very cute and comfortable, but boy are they slippery! Absolutely no traction on the bottom. Make sure to by some type of non-slip shoe pads for the soles of the shoes.

Ordered the blue. Quality is top notch, as expected. However, the shoes just looked too clunky for my size 10 feet. I had to return them based purely on looks...probably cuter on smaller feet.

I had been looking for a loafer that was stylish and timeless, I found these and fell in love. I usually wear an 8, but the shoe was out of stock in the black. After reading the reviews I thought I'd go ahead and try the 7.5. They fit well, just some slight rubbing at the heel. After the minor breaking-in period, they are molded to my feet. Love them! Leather is very soft and the craftsmanship is what one would expect from Frye.

Nice but runs a bit Large. I'm a 10 but this shoe slips as I walk which is going to cause blisters, but I'm afraid 9.5 would be too tight. I might try a smaller size.

I wore Frye boots in the '70s in Manhattan, and they were the greatest. This loafer is made the same way -- sturdy, well crafted, solid, and more comfortable than the boots were. Good looking. If you're the loafer type or you remember Frye boots, you'll love these. They look indestructible to me, just like the boots were.

Love at first sight. These loafers are beautifully made, good quality leather and a great style. But I took heed of one of the reviewers wrote about them being slippery, especially when I almost slid down my carpeted indoor stairs. The soles are made of leather (not the usual rubber) and there is no traction. Afraid of one day not paying attention and taking another slid or fall, I returned them. Sad, because they were comfortable right out of the box and was just what I was looking for. Also if you need arch support, there isn't much in these shoes. The heel is 1/2 inch and this shoe is very flat.

I got this loafer in the blue color. I couldn't be happier! I get compliments all the time. It's colorful enough to be playful, but the style is still classic. The leather was a bit stiff at first but it relaxed and started forming to my foot with only 2 wears. So well-made, with that true Frye quality. I got my normal 6.5 and it fit perfectly.

This is an adorable shoe, and pretty comfortable, although I haven't yet fully "broken it in." Meaning: I can wear it for a full day of work and take a short walk in it, but a long walk results in a bit of rubbing on my heels and toes. Feel pretty sure these will soften up, and I probably expect too much of them (they're not hiking boots). But they are really cute and comfortable, as long as you don't expect to walk several miles in them right away.
