These are true to size and a very high quality shoe. However, they are a touch pricey.

This is a great versatile Chukka Boot! Real nice leather, well made and very easy to break in. They look great with jeans, khaki's or even dress pants. I'm normally a size 9.5, but had to return them for a 9. Zappo's service was very fast with free returns. In fact, they bumped me up to 1 day shipping on the return!

I've had these about a month now and have worn them at least once or twice a week, but they still feel like brand-new shoes. The sole is still as stiff as a board, and the uppers aren't much better. They're tiring to wear. I noticed today that I'm already rubbing through the insole padding. Deeply underwhelming, though attractive.

These boots are really the business. They are as versatile as I've seen for use as casual or business dress might not work with a suit, but anything else and you're styling. They are all-day comfortable, and fit true to size. I normally require width beyond most D designations, but these worked just fine. One small thing I've noticed is that the lacing seems to feel a little loose at the top, even after I've cinched them down. There's no heel slippage, and all else is snug. In short, it made no difference but thought I would mention it. All in all, I recommend these boots highly. Oh yes, should add that the compliments from the ladies are fairly constant regarding these boots!

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Excellent boot; very comfortable and great looking. I am very pleased with the quality of construction and materials used. As always, Zappos service was superb.

This shoe is very high quality and comfortable out of the box. Whoever it was that complained about this shoe being stiff must spend most of their time in house slippers.

Fantastic pair of chukka's. Great style, and they break in quickly. The boot definitely runs a half size big. I had to return my 10.5's for 10's, and I never wear a size 10.

This is a solid boot. I love the color and the feel. The heel and sole are wooden when walking it feels well made. It looks good with everything and is perfect for the winter minus the rain. My only problem with it is the distressed color look in the front and back of the boot. It makes the boot look dirty. Sometimes I feel as if I purchased an pricey dirty boot. I guess distressed is in though.

Maybe the perfect shoe/boot. Arrived early, and in perfect packaging. They have quickly become my favorite footwear. Easy to brush clean, great with jeans. They were comfortable right out of the box.

I loved these shoes for the first 3 months I had them until the rubber insert on the sole split! The styling and construction is very good, but apparently they used low quality rubber for the sole. I still wear them, but am sure that I will have to have the soles replaced long before they should. Beware of this when you purchase. I expect more from a, expensive shoe.

I have hard to fit feet and have tried many brands of footwear over the years. I think Frye makes some of the most comfortable shoes with a very high level of craftsmanship. They're not cheap...but in this instance, you get what you pay for.

Great boot, except for people like me with narrow heels. I had to pay my shoe guy to glue in padding mid heel so I could wear them. Now I find them amazing.

Wonderful looking for first few months, but the rubber sole is quickly worn out, I'm down to the bottom now after wearing a few days a week for 3 months, and the wood is easily scratched and isn't solid wood, but particle board type construction with a fake surface to make it look like layers of wood. Think Ikea furniture in an expensive shoe. Not worth it!

I loved the look of these boots, and wore them several days a week. However, after a couple of months, the right shoe had developed a squeaking somewhere inside the sole, maybe where two layers rub together. It is loud and annoying, so much so that my coworkers joke that they can hear me coming. The rubber insert on the sole wore out quickly, also. I would not buy another pair of these.

Great shoe. Heel slipped even though I ordered almost a full size down from what I normally am. Also, the shoe felt tight on my foot around the middle at first, but the leather just had to stretch out.
