OMG, these Frye Kiltie Mocs are ridiculously gorgeous! They are amazing and it's so beautiful and well made. I think they will literally last forever. I ordered the dark burnished brown, and I adore the color. I'm wearing them with wool shorts at the moment. In the Fall I will add tights or leggings. They fit 100% true to size. The heel height is just perfect to be sexy but totally wearable all day.

I wasn't sure I'd like this shoe, but wanted a thicker heal. Oh my, I'm so glad I ordered it. Comfortable X 3! If you're short, gives great height and you're not teetering. I've tried it on with my tweed skirts and jeans and slacks and leggings and they are so cute. Purchased in the darker brown, great color. Don't sit on the fence, they're so worth it!

The style of the shoe is beautiful like most of the Frye shoes, but the height of the heel (even with the platform to minimize the actual height) just wasn't practical for everyday wear.

These shoes are gorgeous! I own a few pairs of Frye shoes and can say they are worth the investment. They look like high-quality, expensive shoes. They fit securely on the foot and are easy to walk in. I will say that they seem a bit big and would recommend ordering a 1/2 size down.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I love the chunky look of these shoes, and despite the height of the heel, they are walkable and comfortable. I found them easy to wear pretty much out of the box, without too much break-in time. Also, the Kiltie is not as high as it looks in the photos and to me the actual shoe looks a little more dressy and less casual than the photo. Also, my foot is a bit wide, and I could not wear the Frye Harper or Miranda Mary Jane, but these feel fine.

These shoes are awesome! I have foot problems and typically wear clogs due to their wood soles and stable foundation. These shoes give my feet the same stability and security along with comfort and style. The heel height is perfect for those of us that cannot wear a narrow heel. Since Frye does not order half sizes, my heels slip out a bit, but nothing a Foot Petals cannot solve. After buying the brown pair, I purchased a pair in black. These are a wardrobe staple.

I love these shoes and wear them all the time, but I have to wear them with thick socks because they are big. I am actually a 7, and I bought the 7, but my foot slips out. I tried the heel insert, but it pushed my toes too far forward. I tried a shoe insert, but my heel still slipped. I want to be able to wear them without socks too, but I don't think it's going to happen. So, they will just be winter shoes (that I love). I was kind of bummed about this and returned the lighter brown pair that I had also bought because they are such a beautiful shoe, I wanted them in all the colors that were available. But since I can only wear them with thick socks, the lighter brown that I had bought to wear in the summer, had to go back. I love these shoes though!

I purchased these beautiful shoes in late March and I am returning today. I wore 1 time about 2 hours and noticed the sole (rubber bottom) did not cover the entire bottom of the shoe, so the wood platform was expose and was severely damaged. also my heel kept slipping out of the shoe. I would have kept them had the bottom platform been covered with a substantial wearing pad and if the shoe didn't run big. I can not see having to see a shoe smith to repair an expensive dollar shoe. :(
