I have had wonderful luck with Fryes; however, these Fryes took a lot more breaking in than my other 2 pairs. Several days actually. But I do finally love them not only for their looks, but for their comfort as well. Would love another pair in a different color!

These shoes are great! The natural color is a perfect neutral for spring, summer and fall and goes with everything. The pleated edges are a lovely feminine touch. I am a size 8.5 in standard shoes, but always order a size 9 in flats. Size 9 fit perfectly! The leather is a little structured, resulting in blisters on my heels and small toes if I walk a lot. But for regular, daily wear to the office, they are fine. And I think once they are more broken in, the blisters won't be an issue at all.

Cute flat - Cute little shoe. I love the retro crossover dip on the side. These are pretty narrow--I'm between an 8.5 and 9, and I went with the 9 to get a little extra width. They do take a little breaking in, but I'm sure they'll be comfy.

Adorable shoe and very well made, but the inside of the shoe has no give. The first time I wore them out to a casual restaurant, I ended up walking back to the car carrying the shoes in my hand. It’s too late to return them now, since I have worn them outside; so I’ll try breaking them in. Considering they are made by Frye, I am a bit disappointed.

Waterproof them! I bought the green, which is a sweetest colour. Just a little bit of grey, goes with anything, not like a bright neon kelly type green. The rounded toe is cute and the little ruffles are subtle but enough to make it not plain. They are a little pinchy at the sides of the toe box, but I feel like that will break in with time. Also the leather bottom is pretty slippery even with the rubber skid pad, but again, I think as they get scuffed up that will improve. My only real complaint is the first time I wore them I got the worst water damage I've ever seen! I have lots of Frye shoes and I have never had this problem before. Normally I don't care about some spots or patina, but a few water droplets (not even rain, just morning dew type drops) bleached them all the way, almost too bare leather. I like them so much though I'm thinking of buying another pair. Or maybe I will dribble more water on them and tell people they are polka-dot.

Additional Brand Information

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Big Frye fan - I think Frye’s in general are very comfortable. My heel is extremely narrow, so this one slips a bit - easily remedied with some moleskin. It also needs some wearing to stretch out the space between the 1st and 5th metatarsal heads, but no big deal. I had better luck with the Kat Mary Janes because the ankle strap helped with the slipping.

These shoes are very comfortable, the leather is soft and strong, good quality and well made. Unlike some other expensive trendy brands that are popular for their flats, this is not a flimsy shoe with a rubber sole. The sole is good quality leather with a patch of rubber for traction. Leather inside too so no worries or stinky sweaty foot. Very comfortable the moment I first put them on. I do have a medium width foot and unlike other ballet flats, these do not pinch the sides. If you have a narrow foot you may want to get a half size down, but if you have a medium to wide foot do not go half a size down! These kinds of shoes are meant to be a tad loose when worn barefoot. By loose, I don't mean your heel should be completely coming out of the shoe when you walk, but it should be loose so that it is not rubbing against your skin. Highly recommend. I also own another pair of Frye flats in another style and they have gotten even more comfortable the more you wear them.

I ordered an 8.5, black. Soo cute and perfect with a retro black/red dress I just sewed. Toe cleavage, nice edging (although there might be some more pop with the coral and green colors) and lots of cush. However, although the length was just right, I felt like the toe box was narrow and pushed my big toe into my others, which resulted in a cramp. Oh Molly, why couldn't you have been the one? Xoxo...

Super cute shoes, but they are very narrow. The 7.5 felt too long, but the 7 was so tight. I had them stretched and that seems to have helped a bit.

I love this shoe. It’s comfortable, but most important; it’s a good quality shoe. My flats get worn out so quickly. I feel like these will last a while, and when they do get yucky, they're made of quality leather, so a shoemaker can repair them.

Unlike other Frye shoes/boots I have purchased, these are taking a while to break in but I'm confident they will get there. I agree with the other postings that they are well constructed though the trim lacks the "flare" I hoped for...esp. in the black.

Cute shoe but a little tight - I've worn these shoes a few times, and they still feel quite tight. I think with a little more wear, they'll be more comfortable. I would still recommend this shoe though, they're very sturdy for a ballet flat, yet really cute. I've gotten multiple compliments on them.

Cute but kind of plain - I thought the trim around these would jazz them up a little, but in person they were a little plain. They fit nicely though, true to size, and would be good for someone who was looking for something subtle.

LOVE THESE! These are really sweet and pretty. And unlike other flats, they are sturdy - worth the money because they'll last more than one season. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9 and I tend to opt for a 9 in flats because my feet are a bit wide, but the 8.5 fit perfectly.

Cute shoe for weird feet - Gorgeous shoe, beautiful construction. Made for weird feet; toe box is very flat which doesn't come across in the pictures. If you have flattish feet these will work for you.
