I cannot rate the service from Zappos highly enough! Ordered at 4.30pm Thursday, at my door 9.30am Friday! The boots are fantastic too. Perfect fit and gorgeous leather - appropriate for both smart and casual outfits.

Beautiful boots! Need some breaking in like most Frye boots. A little tight to get on but a great fit once they're on. These boots are so well made they'll hold up for years.

This boot runs narrow and is made with a very stiff leather. I didn't have the patience to try and break them in and was concerned that they wouldn't break in enough to be comfortable. Cute but narrow and tighter than Frye's other shortie boots.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

The boots are true to size. Exchanging them for half size larger so I can wear thicker socks. The leather is thick/sturdy. Shaft height is perfect for jeans, leggings, and dresses.

Beautiful! The only way to describe these boots. The color is gorgeous and the leather is soft. The heel is just a bit snug, but it keeps my foot from slipping. They were a little tight across the ball of my foot, but I think that they'll stretch out nicely. I should add that I have wide feet, but did not order a "wide" size. I usually wear a 9.5 or 10; but after reading the other reviews I ordered a 9.5 and am happy with how they fit. Zappos was wonderful as usual, and Frye has a new loyal customer.

I've been admiring these boots since September and I finally brought them and with delight these boots are the best investment I made. However, I found that these boots run a half size large so you may need to size a half down.

Very versatile boot, very nice quality. I think the fit is true to size. But if wearing heavy socks you might want 1/2 size up. I found them comfortable to wear the first time but being leather they will "break in" some over time.

The delicious chocolate leather on this boot is so rich, it goes very well with browns or blacks. I wore them all day the very first day -- 22 hour multi-airport business trip -- and didn't want to take them off! I normally wear a 7 in Frye's but wanted this for more of a winter boot (thicker socks) and the 7.5 took the extra sock just great. If it's your first time ordering Frye's you should know your "Frye size". I typically wear an 8 and wear a 7 with trouser socks and 7.5 with thicker socks.

These are awesome boots. I've always loved Frye boots. I personally think they are the best boots made today. When you open the box the smell of leather is unbelievable (watch your dogs). I bought my true size and had no problem with medium to thick socks. As always, Zappos is a top notch company. Super quick shipping. I even ordered the Frye leather conditioner and received it in 2 days.

Great pair of boots but that metal strap around the lower ankle part really hurt my feet just trying on the boot! Otherwise soooo cute and well made. Why did they have to put that metal thing there?

I like these boots, although they are a little less flexible than my other pair of Frye boots. They are beautifully made, as well as comfortable. Stylish too.

I love these boots! But if you're a first time Frye boot wearer, understand they are made to last and it takes a while to soften the leather. I think they work on foot that is more narrow best. The heel height is very comfortable, and the classic styling means I'll have these for years.

I initially bought these in a size 7 after reading the reviews, but I found them to be extremely tight in the toe box. I exchanged for a 7.5 and they fit like a dream. These are awesome boots! The spur detail on the back makes the boot really special.

It's a nice basic pair of boots to have (but with a subtle difference). There's a nice bouncy quality to the soles. I love them, but the heels are a bit tough (I've been using leg warmers to give me some padding against the tough heels). These are my first Frye's, and I'm satisfied -- the overall quality is good and I think these will last a long time (and look great once they do).

I have several other Frye boots and the quality on all is fantastic. They do tend to run large so I would order half size smaller than your normally wear. Look great with jeans or slacks. So comfortable I have been wearing them most days.
