Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I was on a sandal hunt and feeling very defeated until I found these sandals. Extremely comfortable, they didn't rub on any spot or cause any blisters, etc. as new sandals normally do. I've been wearing them 3 or 4 days a week for the past month walking around NYC - I'm happy with this purchase and definitely recommend.

I love the look and quality of this sandal. I ordered my usual 9.5 Frye size (I wear a 10M in most other brands), but it was too large all over. Too long, too wide, the back portion did not hug my heel, and I could slip my fingers under the top portion. I'm giving it 1 overall star based on the sizing.

This is a cute shoe, but I returned it because it did not fit my high arch. Also, my wide foot looked better in a different pair. I think it would be sensational for someone whose feet were not shaped like a duck, like mine!

I love these sandals! They run very large...if not 1/2 size, a whole size larger. I wear a 9-9.5 and even own a pair of Frye sling back sandals that are a 9.5 and I needed an 8.5 in these sandals. I haven't worn an 8.5 since middle school and now I'm in my early 20's. Anyway, they are great, comfortable, stylish sandals.

I love this sandal. I was looking for something comfortable and stylish for the summer and this sandal is perfect. It is more then I usually spend on sandals but it is good quality and I'm hoping will last many more summers to come.

These are really cute and after the first couple times wearing them to break them in, they are so comfortable. Liked them so much I had to get a 2nd pair.
