Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Not the most comfortable boot I ever wore. Very stiff and hard to break in. Hard to put on and take off. Great style though if walking wasn't an issue. I was going to return but found a buyer and got a different brand.
I'd also recommend: Coach

Love, love, love these boots! They are just beautiful, butter soft and really well-made. I ride for pleasure and have found that Frye is the only boot company that makes boots that are the same quality as my actual riding boots. I've tried other boots and just need to stick with Frye. They are expensive but so worth it. I normally wear an 8 1/2 AA and have a 14 1/2 inch calf and the 8M fits great...a little big in the heel, but I expected that. The shaft fits fine over jeans.

This is a very comfortable, stylish boot, and fits true to size. I own two pairs in different colors, and wear them all the time.

I am in love with these boots! The color is beautiful, they're very comfortable, and are very well made. They do run about a half size too big, and are a little tricky to get on and off. I would have them in every color if I could!

These are the most insanely comfortable boots in the entire universe. They fit like a dream! I am on the slimmer side (but not super skinny by any means), and my calves fit fine in them. They provide excellent support (for me, at least), and I feel like I could walk for miles in them. I also feel like a million bucks in them, as they are so beautifully crafted and go with any outfit!
