I wear a women's size 4 1/2 to 5. I got these boots in a youth 3 and it felt like a woman's size 6. Way too big. I'm going to reorder in a size 2. They're really nice and look awesome. Just the kind of western boot I was looking for - not over the top, but western inspired.

Great boot. Runs big. I usually buy size 3 but these boot were too big so I exchanged them for a size 2. Love the fit and the feel.

Love this boot! I'm an adult who wears a small size (5) and was looking everywhere for brown boots that I can walk in (I live in NYC). This boot was perfect and very soft leather and rubber soles. It may not be the fanciest (no buckles, etc), but it's comfy enough that I didn't care. Agree with other reviews that they run big - I usually buy a 3 in kids but ended up with a 2. And I originally bought the lighter saddle color but thought it looked a little too orange, so I swapped it for the darker brown. Overall, a great buy and definitely worth the money.

About Frye Kids
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture, and has been brought down to youth sizes. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally and enjoys strong sales in the United States, Europe and Japan. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Frye's." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots. Frye continues to manufacture quality boots for infants, toddlers and children, allowing you to outfit your entire family in the Frye tradition.

I love my new Frye boots. I have a small foot, and even though I am a 68 year-old grandma, the kids size 3 worked. I just spent a week walking all over Paris in these very comfortable boots! I make commercials. If you'd like me to be in an ad, as a hip grandma, wearing your boots, give me a email.

These boots are definitely of Frye-quality. I bought them as a gift for my mom and she loved them. They are a bit narrow around the shaft, so they did not look as great on me as they did on her. They will fit a big calf, but they will bunch up at the ankles a bit. They also run at least one size larger. My mom and I are normally a 5 in youth, but the size 4 fit perfectly, with room for socks. For those who want a short boot with real leather at a good price, the kids Frye boots are a steal.

These boots are the bomb! Due to the difficulty finding womens footwear in size 4.5 I'm often forced to buy childrens shoes. I bought the dark brown ones and loved them so much I came back for the black ones. These boots do run a tad large. I usually wear a size 2.5 to 3 in kids but I listened to the other reviews and went with a smaller size. I still had room for insoles which made them perfect. If you're looking for a comfortable casual boot, this is a very good choice. I'm a newbie to Zappos and would like to say the customer service is excellent. Thanks Zappos, I'm hooked!
