I just recieved the cognac pair and find them beautiful. So far, comfortable as well. Nice bit of padding on footbed. Great service, thanks again Zappos!

Very comfortable and feels solid. The color is a great shade of purple that also blends in with browns. I would love to have all the colors. They arrived in one day!

I was looking for a shoe exactly like this. So disappointing. Just didn't fit right - the leather rubbed against my feet in several parts no matter how I adjusted the strap...it didn't "break in" or soften. I had to return them. Zappos is the greatest, though, in every way!

I absolutely love the look of this shoe; however, I have run into a problem with it. I've worn the shoe only once because the buckle hits me at the bottom of my ankles causing small cuts (and pain with every step). I am not sure that I'll be able to wear them at all unless I find a way to to remedy this. That would be unfortunate since I think this is a beautiful shoe that is very well constructed. I hope to find a remedy.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I love the color and the style, but the heel cup is so stiff and the leather is so rough inside that I had blisters the size of quarters on my heels after wearing the shoes for just 2 hours. I will try adding some moleskin, but if that doesn't work I will have made an expensive mistake. I also feel that designating these shoes as medium width is more generous than the width of them.

I agree with the comments about the part of the shoe near the buckle. It also has caused cuts on both ankles. If anyone has a remedy, let me know because I have been unable to wear these very cute shoes.

These are beautiful sandals, very well made on a traditional pattern of lovely leather, but they do run very narrow. My heels are very narrow and they fit well. They are quite snug in the toes. I ordered the slate and it is an unusual but lovely dark grey. I like the padded straps over the toe area and the curve of the ankle strap make them comfortable. I did not have the buckle problems mentioned in several other reviews. I did consider returning them, but I decided that I will not be doing a lot of walking in them and that they may stretch enough to be comfortable after I apply leather balm and wear them for a while.

So absolutely cute on and well made. Could definitely use some kind of arch support because there is none and no way for the wearer to add any. Blue ran somewhat narrow and tight. Yellow is a little better though still on the tight side in a 9. Tried the larger size but it was too long. Love the style but after wearing for a day, my baby toe is escaping through the straps which causes rubbing and is very uncomfortable. Stiffness was dealt with by rolling and bending the leather down at the heel. Heel felt fine after that. Just don't know how to deal with the escaping toe issue.
