I'm a woman who ordered these very beautifully crafted men's boots. Although I loved them, they were very narrow and I couldn't imagine a man fitting into them. I did order a full size smaller as advised by the reviews -- they were long enough but narrow.

I bought these for my husband after he picked them out. They're beautiful, in usual Frye fashion, but we both felt like the toe was too pointy. It's more cowboy-esque than the photo shows. Also the boots arrived looking far more white washed than the photos. They look almost grey, like he's been walking through post apocalypse ash or something. We're returning them, although I think they're nice looking and some people will really enjoy them.

While I had already seen this product "live" at a local retailer & tried it on for size, the service given there didn't seem to care. I thought about the boot some more & decided to check online, i.e. Zappos. Their delivery, return policy etc. couldn't be better & as for the boot itself it has been everything I wanted & very comfortable to wear. It's true to size so no worries there; the only thing is the soles are very slick when new/wet weather. Break them in/scuff the soles/bottoms.

Okay, these are the most expensive shoes I've ever purchased. Fortunately, they are also my favorite shoes and fit the best. I don't mind paying the price if the quality is there...and it is. Very pleased with the style, color, fit and quality.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

They look good and have a not so thick soul. They have more room in the toe than I wanted, and yes they fit a little like a cowboy boot. But that is just what I was looking for. I didn't care for the grey dusting to give it a worn in look, so I applied some Hubbards Shoe Grease and now they look really nice. It will take a little more time to break these babies in cause of the tight fit at the sides of the front part of the shoe, but over all I like them a lot.
