I love the look of these boots! They are rugged yet stylish. I think they run pretty true to size, not big as others have commented. I also agree that the cuff is hard to keep down if you roll it at different place. I\'ve been wanting a pair of Frye boots for a long time and I\'m glad I picked this style!

I bought these boots and just love them. I tend to have a larger calf than most Frye boots will accommodate but these fit perfectly. The leather is soft and they feel wonderful on. As usual dealing the Zappos was great. Their customer service is the best I have ever encountered. I would order ANYTHING from them knowing that they are not happy until I am happy.

Great boot - I love this boot! Wide calf, not a problem. Tall girl, tall boot, a great investment in good-looking, sexy footwear in a boot. You can't go wrong with Frye.

I have very large calf muscles, always have even as a little kid. I have wanted knee high boots for many years but even the wide calf boots do not often fit. The cuff in the Frye Jane Cuff Boots is slit in the back. When I unfold the cuff, the slit makes it possible for the boot to fit all the way up to my knee. After many years of searching I am excited to finally have a knee high boot fit me! Also, the quality of the boot is excellent so it should last me for years. The only thing I wish is that the heel was not so high. Then I could wear it more often.

Great boots! They are really comfortable and came in record time. I would buy another pair of Fryes in an instant.

Additional Brand Information

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I love my new boots. I had Frye boots some 25 years ago and the leather in the new ones is a little bit softer than expected. I sew some hooks and lye in the cuff and it slouches beautifully. I intend to buy a pair of Frye boots every 25 years!

This is a top-quality leather boot and everyone who admires them, know it. I wear the cuffs both up and down. Compliments galore. Very stylish boot. I have the black ones and will be purchasing brown as well. You can't go wrong with Frye's.

These boots are beautiful and very comfortable. I ordered my normal size and it was fine. I also liked that the shaft of the boot is large enough for an athletic calf with enough room to tuck in jeans. Heel height makes it very easy to wear all day. Would highly recommend.

Love them!!! I've been coveting a pair of Frye's for a few years. Finally decided to take the plunge and spent months researching and looking to find the perfect pair. I decided on the Jane Cuff, and I LOVE them!! I usually wear a 5, and I don't think Frye makes 5's for women. So, I got the 5.5. I just wear thick socks with them, and they slip a little in the heel, but they're still actually very comfortable. I read a lot about how loose they were around the calf. I'm pretty small, but I'm a runner, so my calves are muscular. I can wear the boots with jeans tucked in, and they slouch maybe an inch or so. I can still stick a finger in there. Without jeans they slouch more, of course, but it's not like they hang down around my ankles. I've received tons of compliments on them, and I'm extremely happy with them. I'm only 5ft 1in, so I probably won't wear them with the cuffs pulled up, but I'm sure they would be hot if you were tall enough to pull it off! Shipping was awesome. Got them in 5 business days. Very, very, very pleased with my purchase and with Zappos.

Was a bit nervous about the shoe not meeting my expectations, price, and hype after reading the reviews. The only option I would add in enhancing alternative viewership of your shoes are to add models wearing the products. Otherwise, I'm absolutely happy with my purchase; could wear every day. Beautiful craftsmanship, comfort, shape, color, and the natural movement (slouch) of boot ads character. Shoe fit is right with recommendations. I felt awkwardness in wearing the boots un-cuffed past knee but some might not. Lastly, delivery time of shoe was excellent.

Crazy well made boot. Yes the leather is soft. Yes this will slouch. I'm 5’9” and when un-cuffed reaches to mid-knee darlings...many compliments but you must have the chutzpah to wear them...

Just too Big - The boot runs a full size larger I believe. The boot requires a hefty calf to keep the boot up; otherwise it is a major slouch boot. It would work out great for somebody, just not for me. The leather of course is good quality and very soft, which is why the boot has trouble staying up is you have a fairly thin calf. But I found 2 pair of Frye that do work for me! Got Lucky!

Love em - I love these boots. I'm not crazy about the cuffed look so much, but they are great with the cuff pulled up over jeans or with a shorter skirt or dress. I get a ton of compliments whenever I wear them. They do slouch some in the ankle, but it doesn't bother me. The quality and comfort of the Frye brand is fantastic, and as always, Zappos' customer service and delivery speed is beyond exceptional!!!

Jane cuff - I love my new boots. At first I ordered a half size down as frye can run big, but I sent them back and exchanged for my real size. The boots slouch A LOT more than the picture shows when you wear them and would not be good for a very thin leg. The leather is very soft and pliable, not the sturdier leather on the campus style boots. They are really awesome on though and I get many compliments.

I just received these boots and they are comfortable and stylish. I love how you can wear them either cuffed or up. On the other hand, my one pair slouches around the ankle when they are cuffed more than the other pair and look uneven. That would be my only complaint. Otherwise, I love them!

I bought a pair of these boots well over 25 years ago. I had them for many years. As a matter of fact, the only reason I do not have them (as they were still in great shape) is because we had a hurricane here in 2005 and our home got flooded. Many things got thrown out that shouldn’t have been thrown out. These boots were something that I found out later got tossed. I just had to write to let you know that they are a pair of boots that will definitely last many more years than you will be wearing them. Awesome boots made for comfort.

Somewhere else I saw boots on sale, 2 for the price of 1 and was thinking of purchasing. After I got these I went back to take a second look at the other ones, thinking of buying them – I mean, it was so tempting. I didn't like them any longer, NO COMPARISON! I saved money and I have a great pair of boots.

Frye Jane Cuff - I bought a pair of these same boots well over 20 years ago and just threw them out last year. They were by far my favorite boots, and I'm trilled to see that Frye's is making them again.

Beautiful Boot! Regretfully I have to return these because they're just wrong for the dress for which they were intended. They are a beautiful pair of boots with a rich burgundy brown tone. I've never owned Fryes before and am not sure if I could get used to the loose heel. Back they go...
