I ordered a pair of the Jackson Harness in chocolate which is a winter-only style. Normally wear an 8½ to 9 in sneakers and the size that fit perfectly was an 8. They are so far the most comfortable boots that I have ever owned. They felt broken in already, but that can be attributed to the vintage chocolate brown leather they make. They are highly recommend.

Great, sharp pair of boots. Really dresses up a pair of jeans. Runs a half-size big in the length. The lug sole detail is inset, so you don't actually see it from the side. I am very happy with this purchase.

These boots are awesome, wore mine the first day right out of the box to a long day of walking at Disneyland. As far as what I experienced sizing though, after three different pair of various Frye boot styles I do have to say that they run at least one half to one full size bigger than a pair of shoes (I wear a nine but finally got an eight and they fit like a glove). Easy on and off, no struggling and the leather is soft and supple, looking forward to ordering a different color in this style sometime soon!

I bought these shoes for my boyfriend for his birthday. He is absolutely in love with them and a month later still frequently tells me how cool his boots are. He tried them on in person to get the fit right, so we already knew that when ordering. The color is GORGEOUS and although they gave him some minimal pain the first time he wore them, they seem to have worn in quickly. I think we would both agree that these are magnificent boots! Would highly suggest them!

This boot has gotten nothing but praise from the coworkers. It can be either dressed up or down. Very versatile. I'm loving it!

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Great product all around! Very comfortable boot. I tried on 6 other different brands of boots, all of similar price and brand. They all paled in comparison in every way. Frye has done their homework.

Great Boot! Looks great with jeans or dress casual around the office. Leather quality is excellent and comfort just right. The sole is hard leather with rubber embedded for good grip when riding. This is exactly what you need if you\'re seeking a cleaner look without the bulky looking rubber soles on most riding boots. Frye is top quality and the comfort of wearing all day will be realized after a short break-in period of just a few days.

Absolutely great boots. Well made and super comfortable from the first wearing. Can be dressed up or down. A boot, yes, but with subtle styling that's a little bit out-of-the-ordinary, but not too much. Got the brown first and am now ordering the black.

I have two pairs of these boots, and have lost heels on three of the four boots. On one occasion I lost a heel while carrying heavy equipment down a flight of stairs. The boots were only 6 months old. This is highly disappointing for a product that advertises its handmade quality. The factory fixed the first boot, but it took a month. I got the rest repaired locally. It's too bad, because they are great looking boots.

Killer boot. Comfortable, well made, and they look really sharp. The rounded toe is a nice contrast from Frye's classic Harness 12R boots (I own a pair of those in black). I found the Harness 12R's square toe looked a little to hardcore for daily use. The round toe on the Jackson makes all the difference -- just enough attitude to make you look like a boss, without stealing the show. If you are looking for boots you can wear regularly, I highly recommend purchasing the Jackson Harness. As an aside, sizing felt true.
