Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I had been on the fence about these boots for a year. Finally they came on sale, I ordered them. I am in love the moment I opened the box! Heath Moto has just the right amount of edge, but does not scream "I ride a Harley." 14 days later Zappos offered a deeper discount on the Heath Moto. I checked the price match policy, a 10 day price match policy. I sent an email to Zappos, and hooray Zappos, they honored the price match. This is m third pair of Frye boots from Zappos, and I will keep ordering them.

Awesome boots! I ordered them at 4:50 PM on a Monday and they were at my office by 8:30 AM on Tuesday. They look great and fit perfect and I am IN LOVE with these boots! I have only had them on for about 2 hours, but everyone has commented on them and they feel great. Thanks Frye and thanks Zappos!!!! Another great Frye and Zappos experience!!!

These are pretty good boots for the urban cowgirl. They're comfy right out of the box (though I had to add arch supports, as I do to most footwear) and stay comfy through hours on my feet. Good traction on icy, snowy sidewalks, too. The Western-style stitching looks sharp, the side-sippers make it easy to wear them over jeans without the dread pants leg bunching, and the distressed leather is pleasingly post-apocalyptic. In all, they look sharp. However, I have a few: there is a bit of stitching on the right boot that wore and abrasion into my shin. That has been fixed by placing a strip of electric tape over the offending part. Also, unlike my Frye harness boots, they are not made in the US and the overall leather and workmanship is not as high quality as I'd expect. Overall, if I'd known that I'd have ordered another pair of Frye 12Rs, which are of higher quality, are still made in America, don't scrape my shins up, and are nearly $100 cheaper. Overall I like these a lot and get compliments on them every time I wear them, but I like my 12Rs better.

I got these boots today and was really excited to get them; however, I am positive I am now going to return them. I had purchased a pair of the Frye Heath Outsize Zip boots and liked them so much I ordered these. However there is a vast difference between the two boots. These were very stiff and were not slouchy. The leather was not buttery, it was very hard (aka requires a break in period which the other boots did not require). I love the look of these, but after wearing them around the house for about 10 minutes I realized they were not really comfy. The top of the one seam on the right boot dug into my leg and felt really awful. Needless to say, these are a no go!

Love these boots! Second pair of Fryes and they won't disappoint. I've gotten compliments every time I have them on. Looks great with skinny jeans and stretch pants tucked in. They also fit perfectly under my boot cut jeans. Definitely have a biker look to them but not too much for the non biker.
