Quality: The first thing I noticed when I pulled these guys out of the box was the superb quality of the leather. These shoes are sturdy, almost boot-like, in their construction. They're in a whole different ballpark of materials than my Cole Haan oxford's I've been dragging around for the past year. I'm optimistic these will hold up a while. Comfort: These are by far the most comfortable wingtips I've owned. They fit like a glove right out of the box. The width on these run a bit narrow, but for me this worked great. I feel shoe companies so often make their Oxfords too wide. Style: I've found these go great dressed up or down. I really dig the distressing on these shoes. Cons: There are a couple points around my ankle where the leather rubs, but I imagine after a little more breaking in this will not be a problem. Overall, I would highly recommend these shoes. The Zappos gallery on these shoes do not do them justice -- they look killer in real life. They are well worth the price tag.

Absolutely fabulous value for the money. No harsh break-in period, for me anyway. I took them dancing right out of the box and they were very comfortable. High quality materials and excellent workmanship. Handsome, rugged good looks are the key to the Harvey.

Just arrived. Very comfortable. 8.5 Medium Width. Dark Brown Have to return due to what appears to be aggressive buffing/polishing on one sole and instep area. Plan to order another pair.

I previously posted about having to send my 8.5 back but the 9's fit great. I've had a chance to wear them several days since they arrived and they are very comfortable. I wore them for a full work day each time so no complaints.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.
