Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Fantastic piece of footwear - These boots are great. Not only are they really comfortable, they are also very good looking. I have gotten several compliments on them. They are, without a doubt, my favorite pair of shoes. I highly suggest these boots to anyone and everyone.

Nice looking boot, bad fit by poor design. Although the boot was clearly the right size, it was very difficult to get on. Once on, my toes were cramped but my heel loose. I can only assume this is due to bad shape of the boot since I've never had this problem with other boots before.

These are some of the coolest boots I've ever seen. Bought for my 26 year old and he absolutely loves them. Purchased his correct size and they fit perfectly. Very good looking boots and Frye is a classic.

The left boot was difficult to put on at the entry. It was also shorter by 1/16 of an inch (when measured sole to sole with the right pair). When on, both actually felt the same (very comfortable).

I have owned a pair of women's boots identical to these. I received them last year as a Christmas gift for my husband. This year, he has requested a pair for himself. Every time I wear these boots, I get compliments. I love my Frye boots! They look brand-new after a year of wearing them quite often. These boots are little bit biker, a little bit rock and roll, and a whole lot of sass. You will find yourself strutting with confidence with your head held high. You will feel like a bad-ass when you wear your Frye Harness boots and everyone you encounter will envy your coolness. I highly recommend these boots. Comfort, style, and cool rating of 10+. It just doesn't get any better than that. These boots eventually mold to the shape of your foot, making them even more special. These are boots your children will fight over after you are gone. The quality is evident in the beautiful leather, the stitching, and the sole. You won't be sorry if you buy these boots.

Fashion meets function. These boots look great and are extremely well built and are US made. The distressed leather is more stunning in person. I bought these with the intention of using them as my motorcycle riding boots, but find myself using more and more for the day to day. I'm sure they would be great for riding horses as well and are sturdy enough for it. Go ahead and buy them you won't regret it.
