These are so beautiful and so comfortable. Dressy or casual, they look good. I have just brought 2 pairs now. I had looked for black oxfords, and after returning 6 pairs Fryes brought out the black. Shoe heaven.

This is the perfect neutral color. Style on trend for fall. I have already worn them with jeans, ankle-length trousers, dresses, and skirts. I went down ½ a size, but often do with Frye.

Cute shoe. Unfortunately, I returned them because I could not walk in them. The shoe is cut at such an angle with a 4" heel, that you could definitely hurt yourself.

I have owned these shoes for about two months now. I just read where some reviewer from Texas returned these shoes because the heel was too high and unstable. Too bad, one week after wearing mine I had the heels cut down. They are very sturdy and easy to walk in now and have been since they had an operation. This is the second pair of Fryes that I have done this too. Seems like all the best looking shoes need some kind of adjustment. Hope she sees this review and it helps in the future. Fryes and Zappos are the best to deal with.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Great shoes. Unbelievably comfortable. Sizing is very accurate. I ordered a 1/2 size bigger thinking I would need more room for socks, but am returning and reordering in my actual size.

These are the most beautiful shoes. They are impressively easy to walk in, given their height, but it's still a bit difficult. They are super comfortable and well-constructed and look great.

Very cute, stylish and well-made shoe, but unfortunately my feet hurt after just putting them on and walking around my house. Not very good arch support.

Really cool shoes. I bought the distressed brown and I must say, they look fabulous. Fit is perfect, and they are comfortable even with the high heel.

These are the perfect high-heeled Oxford. Comfortable with a classic, refined profile. I normally wear an 8.5 or 9 and the 9s fit perfectly with stockings or very thin socks. I got the charcoal vintage distressed leather and the material is even more beautiful than I expected. Great workmanship. These are my first Fryes and they definitely won't be my last!
