This is a terrific shoe. I ordered it in the natural first and loved it. I then ordered it in the brick which is a very vintage color. Tons of compliments and soo comfortable. I never noticed the height. Easy to walk in. Just a great, great shoe.

Worth every penny!!! These are the most comfortable shoes I own. I wear a lot of high heels and I wish they all felt like these. I wear them with everything. Thinking of getting a backup pair!

One Satisfied Customer - I have never had more compliments from strangers on any shoe than these. Since I got these three weeks ago, I've been wearing them almost every day. They are so cushiony. I do, however, have to say they're pretty high even though they're platforms, and I wear heels all the time. That's why I gave four stars for comfort. I wear either 6 1/2 or 7, depending on the shoe, because I have wide feet. I bought these in 6 1/2, and they fit perfectly. So if you're between sizes, I'd order the smaller size. The ankle straps are a bit loose, which is fine for me because I don't like it when straps fit too tightly around my ankle. I've actually put the buckle through the second hole (there are three), and I've been sliding the shoes on and off without undoing the buckle, which I think makes a shoe last longer because the holes eventually stretch out and tear. But don't worry. They don't fall off my feet. Overall, I'm VERY happy with these shoes. They live up to the Frye name, and they're worth every penny.

Cute and kind of cushy - I got the green, really like it; remarkably versatile. Very cute. The footbed is really quite soft. I've worn them twice and no sign of rubbing or anything of that nature, quite comfortable. Glad I got them.

This is a great shoe. Very comfortable. I wore it around the house once for an hour and then ventured out to work in them. I wore them from 7:30am - 6:30pm easily. They did not require any breaking in or band-aids or foot baths at the end of the day and I rarely wear heals that are more than 1" to work (and in general). Their one downfall is that they are just about impossible to walk in on a broken/uneven sidewalk- but then again how many 4 1/2" heels can handle a broken sidewalk?

Additional Brand Information

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.
