Very happy with them. They are very well made and rugged. I really like the worn in, distressed look. They are still a little stiff, but hopefully they will break in more over time.

These boots are super comfortable, and I love the way they look for the most part. The leather has some fake distressing (which I'm not a huge fan of), but it's not a deal breaker. Be warned that the heel is pretty thick and that these boots are heavy, which results in a pretty loud footstep on surfaces such as hardwood floors. Ergo, they definitely shouldn't be used for nocturnal ninja activities, spy maneuvers, or ballet dancing.

I love the style of these boots. I fit comfortably into 10s and 10.5s in other Frye styles, but for some reason 9.5s fit better. 9s might even be the best fit. They are fairly tight at the base of the tongue and toe box, but I’ve heard they will stretch a little. I have to wear them with thick socks or the heel rubs too much.

First, Zappos is the best way to shop. As far as the boot, it is very uncomfortable. I am a long time Frye wearer and feel they have started to let they're quality slip for fashion's sake. The back rubbed so badly I had blisters. The raw, unfinished leather in the inside of the boot was terrible. Also the leather almost feels brittle and thin unlike most of Frye's boots. Too much "fashion," not enough quality. Stick with classic Frye.

I was excited after performing research on this shoe to order and receive. I pulled it out of the box, and it looked great. Unfortunately, wore the shoe for about a week and it rubbed on my heal and even worse, the stitching started coming apart. Obviously, not what one would expect from a pair of shoes this expensive. This is disappointing since this is my first experience with Frye... bummer. As always, the Zappos customer service group handled like the pros they are and the shoes are being returned with a full refund on my purchase. Zappos rocks, Frye shoes, not so much....

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.
