I was hesitant to pay this much for a pair of boots but I am now a Frye fanatic! They were comfortable right out of the box. I have another pair of boots from a popular chain in the mall that I\'ve worn 4 times that still hurt. \r\n\r\nAside from that the styling is impeccable and timeless. These are boots that I know I will have no problem pairing with ensembles for years to come. I\'ve made an investment in the Frye conditioning cream to keep them in prime condition. What a great boot, my only regret is I didn\'t buy them months sooner.

These boots are made in China. For the retail price, and for the Frye brand moreover, I really expect a boot made somewhere other than China. I purchased this boot along with the Fiona Leather Loop (also Frye) same color, same size. I can not tell you how much better quality the Leather Loop is (made in Mexico). The 3 Strap was very cheap feeling in comparison. Do yourself a favor, and invest to buy the Leather Loop and get an infinitely better boot.

The shoes are exactly as they should be. The color is great and they are much lighter than the Frye work boots. They fit true to size, and a little more narrow fit than the work boot, which I needed. I have a normal foot, but lean toward a narrow toe box. I was looking for an UGG alternative, somewhere in between dressy and casual. It's not too high heeled or too low. These are perfect for that. I haven't worn them in the snow, but they were my fall boot for sure. They look great with all my leggings and straight jeans. They are super comfortable and my husband likes them since they are not as casual as Ugg shoes and the work boot. Theya re perfect for someone looking for an in between boot.

I wanted so badly to love this boot, but it just didn't work for me. The shaft was way too short, didn't even come close to my knee. Too big around the ankle, but I should have expected that as there is no side zipper. It was beautiful in person; great quality leather, the metal hardware was fantastic looking. I guess I was hoping it would fit more like the Matilda button boot, which I love.

Shoe Size: Felt a half size smaller than marked Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support Shoe Width: Felt true to widthThings you should know before you buy: If your calf is over 13 inches, you will have a very hard time getting these boots on. Mine are 13 1/2 inches and these boots fit perfect so there is no gap on top and I can still wear leggings or a thin pair of skinny jeans. Heel height is perfect. I was looking for some height, but still be able to walk around on the NYC street and not be in pain. These are so easy to walk in! I'm usually a 5-5.5, but the 6 fit me perfect. I do have some room but it allows me to wear thicker socks. So I would say these feel half a size smaller. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase. These are expensive, but definitely worth the price!
Additional Brand Information
The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

These are gorgeous boots. They are somewhat darker brown than the photo indicates, which is perfect for me. They are very comfortable and easy to walk in. The only problem I see with them is wearing with jeans tucked in as there is no zipper and they are narrow at the top. My solution for this is to safety pin wide elastic bands to the bottom of the pants (memories of old stirrup pants). Works like a charm. I ordered a bit larger, maybe a half size. Glad I did, they take a bit of work to get on and off, but worth the effort and money.

Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to widthI have been looking at these boots for awhile. I finally made the splurge. I got them in black so I could wear them for work and play. I actually got these in my true size 6.5, where as my Frye Carmens, Cindy, Melissa, and Paige are all 6. I would definitely stay true to size with these shoes. You won\'t be disappointed!!!

These are very nice, unique boots that run true to size. They are not a boot to wear over jeans, however, unless you have toothpicks for legs. The calf area hugs tightly on normal-sized calves making them ideal for dresses and skirts. (I would not recommend these if your calves are on the larger size.)The heel is a good height (not too high) so they are comfortable to wear all day. The only downside to these beauties is that the insole is not cushioned. This is no means a tragedy, but I think I\'m going to pick up some insoles to remedy this issue. Otherwise, I highly recommend these! They are not your average-looking boot! They really look expensive and are well-made. I purchased them in black. Oh, and one other little thing: they\'re a little tough to slip on and off, but once they\'re on they\'re gorgeous!

Amazing quality, best boots I\'ve ever bought. Had a really hard time deciding between slate and dark brown. I kept the dark brown because I thought it would work with more outfits but really wanted the slate too. I really can\'t believe the quality of these boots. They are going to last forever.

These boots are the best pair of boots I have ever purchased! Very comfortable, I wore them all day long doing a lot of walking in airports and my feet never got tired. The workmanship is impeccable and even though the boot was a little pricey, it has such a classic design that I know it will be my basic wardrobe staple for fall and winter in the years to come. When you find a boot where you can find comfort, quality and style, it's definitely worth spending the extra amount of money.

These boots are absolutely fabulous - I LOOOVE them! With big feet and skinny calves I have the hardest time finding boots that fit properly. Most are so big through the calf that they look ridiculous. Well, this is my 3rd pair of Frye boots and I have decided not to buy any other brand because they fit me so well through the foot and the calf! The leather is wonderfully soft and supple as well - I\'m so happy I think I might need these in another color.

Love this boot. Very stylish, beautiful leather and perfect heel height. Ordered 7.5 in saddle. My only problem is the calf circumference. Very difficult to pull on/off. As stated by previous review, cannot wear with jeans tucked in. If your calf measures 13" or less, this is the boot for you. Unfortunately too tight for me; I will have to return. Hopefully Frye will make this boot in an extended calf.

This is a gorgeous boot, made with the usual Frye attention to detail and quality. Very comfortable, the heel height is just right for a comfortable dress boot. I agree that the calf circumference is a bit tight, and I am a slender person. There is no room for jeans or heavy tights, but hose/thin socks would be fine.

The style of these is exactly what I\'ve been looking for - a little higher heel and shaft, a more rounded toe, and a bit of a dressier look but with the tough metal details and straps to make it look tough. I was not disappointed in its looks when I got it - gorgeous leather and beautifully made, as usual for Frye. I got it in Cranberry which is darker than shown - almost a wine color. My only problem with this boot is that even though the shaft is higher, the circumference is smaller than other Fryes I have.It was difficult getting them on, and then pulling them up over my calf; I usually don\'t have any trouble in this regard with Fryes. I was almost ready to send them back, but put them on again and it was a bit easier. Beware if you usually have trouble with the calf circumference in other Fryes. Otherwise, a stellar boot.
