Nice...really nice, but you should order a 1/2 size smaller as they run big. They're very comfortable. I like.

I love the shoe, but the leather insert in the heel area of the shoe was not glued in. Therefore, both inserts slid around. I had to take them to a cobbler to glue in. A defect from Frye.

This is a well-made solid men's shoe. I have only had them for a week, but I can tell that they will last. Sizing is a bit large for length, and a bit narrow for width. However, they are pretty stiff out of the box and I anticipate that they will loosen up as I break them in. I destroy shoes, so I was looking for something durable and well-made. It is worth the extra money for a solid and attractive shoe.

The lug sole is coming back, folks. All of the cool kids are wearing them, so why not get a pair that are beautifully crafted and will last for another decade or two? This is my second pair of Frye shoes, and certainly won't be my last.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Beautiful and comfortable. I am a recent convert to Frye, based partly on looks/quality, but mostly on comfort. I have a long (size 13) foot, which is not too wide or 'voluminous'. Where other shoes feel short for 13s, the Frye's feel like true sized 13, giving my toes ample room. They also fit my lower volume foot better than many other brands, where there's too much leather up front by the metatarsals (for me anyway). I ordered both these (dark brown leather) and the suede version, but prefer the leather and will return the suede. Zappos rocks as always with tremendous service and shipping deals. Note: these shoes are made in China, vs most of the other Fryes I have which are made in Mexico.
Brands I'd also recommend: Paraboot, Chippewa

Rugged casual shoes. Fine construction and sole. These shoes definitely will need some breaking in. I have only had mine for a few weeks. Everything I expected. I like wearing them with blue jeans. I expect this pair to last 10 years. A bit pricey. But you will not find another one like this in the store.
