Great quality boot. This boot is simply a fantastic piece of work from Frye. The sole is well lugged so the boot can stand winter wear without slipping. The sizing is similar in my opinion to other Frye boots, so you may want to consider ordering 1\/2 size down from your normal size. The finish on these boots is really cool, as well, and the picture on the site is quite accurate. I have Alden Indy boots and for 1\/3 the price these boots are just as good.

These are the first Frye shoes/boots I've ever worn and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Seem to be built very well and are stylish with jeans. They do seem to be a bit narrower than advertised and be prepared for a break-in period. I would recommend them.

If these didn't say "Made in China", you'd never guess it. They are very well-crafted boots with some of the best, thick but soft, full-grain leather I've seen. The forefoot has good cushioning, while the heel is more firm. These boots always get compliments and look great with jeans. Just note that these felt a full size larger than the size of Nike athletic shoes.

Nice boot. Very comfortable. Sorry to see (from the inside label) that the boot was not made in the USA. I have several other pairs of Frye boots all made in the USA. Just assumed this boot was also, my bad. The boot is slightly lighter in color than in the picture. This is a very nice boot, no major complaints.

These boots look and feel great. They are comfortable right out of the box thanks to the soft, thick leather uppers. My wife (and a few other ladies) have already given me compliments on them. When I wear them, I am at least an inch taller. If there is a negative quality, it's that they scuff up pretty easy. Overall, they are worth the price. These babies are high quality and feel like they will last a long time.

Add This Brand to My Favorites
The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

These boots fit my feet like they were made for them from the first time I put them on! These boots get a lot of compliments. I normally wear a size 11 but I got mine in size 10 and they fit perfectly. I also tried them in 11 and they were too big. With Zappos excellent return policy you have nothing to lose by buying these and trying them out. You wont regret it!

I thought these would be good, but they run narrow. I wear a 9.5M running shoe, but when I got 9.5 in these boots, they were the right length but too narrow. I fear that if I size up, I may experience feet or ankle pain, as I've had in the past when I wore shoes that were too big. It's a good quality boot, and the sole is thick rubber, but they need to offer more widths. It seems like a sturdy, well-made boot. I guess one has to wear it a few months to tell if that's really true.

Bought these for my husband since our dog ate his other boots. Despite being made in China, the materials are all real. Other boots I've bought that are made in China (Vasque Sundowners) have been garbage and I've returned them, but not the case with these. I guess Frye is maintaining quality regardless of having some of its manufacturing overseas. The boots look great. My husband says he's gotten compliments on them at work. His daughters (fashion critics) even think they look good.

Ok, I read the other reviews and I’m glad I did. I am a true 9.5 in any Merrell or North Face boot or shoe. I ordered this boot in a 10.5 and they fit perfectly. First day I wore them they were perfect; long day at work and never took them off, no problem on break-in.

Many times, a rugged looking boot turns out to be a pleather sneaker in disguise. This is a solid work boot disguised as a chukka. A stiff sole with just enough flex, great ankle support, high quality craftsmanship and materials. No arch support - if you need it, get an insert. Typical Frye sizing (I am a solid 9-1/2, wear a 9 in just about every pair of Fryes I've ever tried). Takes a solid 12-15 hrs of active wear to break them in, but well worth it. A great all purpose boot - from the shop to pairing with khakis.

These look great. It took a week to break them in. They definitely run a full size large, but I counted on that. Now they are incredibly comfortable and my best looking pair of boots. I plan on them lasting for years.

Nice looking boot and reasonably well constructed. Unfortunately, they are not one of Frye's USA made boots. Sizing runs 1/2 size larger than normal.

Loved the fit of these boots except for one thing...the insole was slightly rigid and unforgiving. I didn't wear them for more than two days but the experience became increasingly more painful as time went by. I went to the local grocery store for about 30 minutes and I was nearly limping on my right foot because of the discomfort. I was sad to give them up but they just didn't work for me.

Great boots! Must say, I am in the military and hate to wear boots, but decided to give these a try after reading all the reviews. After two days of breaking them in, I walked all over Rome and Florence with no problems. Comfortable boots and they look great too. I found my new favorite shoes.
