Beautiful shoes and true to size, but make an embarrassingly loud squeak when I walk on any hard floor. I'm disappointed in the shoe, never in Zappos!

Love it! These are such great shoes! As with my Campus boots, they provide enough room to keep from rubbing but fit well enough to keep from sliding around. And they are beautifully made -- I love the stitching around the sole and heel. As for the squeaking, I'm not really bothered (yet), and the chunkiness while walking is just part of having shoes which are really cut-off boots. I couldn't be happier with them.

Great Looking Shoe - These shoes are really cute, my husband always compliments me when I wear them, but...they aren't the most graceful shoe to wear. There is no flexibility to this shoe, whatsoever. They are pretty loud, so there is no sneaking up on people in them. The shoes are comfy, but I won't wear these if I'll be on my feet for any length of time.

Nice looking, but extremely uncomfortable - Very nice looking clogs. However, very, very uncomfortable. I wore them no more than 3 times, every time I ended up with blisters on my toes.

Interesting noise. Is it just me? Well, from all the reviews I've read about this shoe, I seem to be the only one who has a problem with these squeaking. Oh My do they squeak! Maybe it’s the way I walk; I'm not really sure. I've tried to figure it out and I think it has to do with the heel. All I do know is its a little embarrassing in the lobby of my office building. Usually, I'm like, "Oh, excuse my shoes please." They don't squeak on carpet or outside at all, only on a hard floor. I LOVE the look of the shoe and the squeaking hasn't stopped me from wearing them; they're also VERY comfy for a clog. Now...I did buy these at another store, but I can't imagine that having anything to do with the construction of the shoe. They are quite beautifully made. Such attention to detail. I'm very impressed except for the squeaking! I'm an 8 1/2 and bought a 9 and they are a little big.

Additional Brand Information

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Can't get enough Frye’s - Frye’s are always a full size larger for me. One reviewer here said these made her feet look smaller. They make mine look bigger when I wear a skirt but it's a cute bigger. They make me look like a Hummel figurine! It's a gift to be Hummel! Anyway the thing that almost made me return was that the top comes so close to the leg, very high up on the foot. But clogs are to me what gym shoes are to others. I simply detest gym shoes. So with that in mind I kept them as my summer casual shoe to wear without socks. This is the first day I wore them. At work I had to go out to run errands for the business. My feet feel great. They look great with slacks. They darkened slightly when sprayed with water protectant but I spray all my new shoes and boots to keep them nice longer. I have other Frye clogs and boots for fashion and riding horses. Frye’s last five years or more. I want to be the Imelda Marcos of Frye. If your Frye’s are not comfortable perhaps the size is wrong or you don't have that cowgirl swagger.

Frye Charlotte Flower Cut - I thought that this shoe was wonderful: great looking, very comfortable, and well made. However, the heel height was just a bit too much for me, because of an old ankle injury. Otherwise I definitely would have kept it. I guess I will stick to Frye boots (of which I have three pair!)

Most beautiful clogs ever! I didn't think they made shoes with this much detail anymore. I had Frye's years ago and they are still as high quality as ever.

Frye Charlotte - I have large feet, which I'm self conscious about. These shoes make my feet appear much smaller! They have a pretty, slim, trim look. They look a lot like boots when worn with boot cut jeans, which I like. They also look great with a skirt. I can't say that about most clogs. On the down side, they aren't nearly as comfortable as I had hoped. With socks on, they pinch a little in the toe & the top of my feet are achy after I've worn them awhile. Without socks, they are much too uncomfortable. I will wear these when I don't have a lot of walking to do. They slip easily on smooth surfaces, so I've put skid stops on the bottom. They are rather noisy on hard surfaces, but then most clogs are. Despite the negatives, I'm still glad I bought them.

Frye's charlotte Flower Cut- wider than normal - I found that this particular shoe is wider than a normal medium width and therefore loose without resorting to heavy socks. The length was a true size 8.

Slim-line and comfortable - This clog offers all the convenience of a slip-on with both comfort and style. Typically, I find clogs clunky and rather unattractive. This shoe has a slim-line and looks fantastic with slacks. Every experience I have had with Zappos has been five-star. This company knows the meaning of customer service. I cannot imaging shopping for shoes anywhere else.

Great looks, not so great on the feet! I love these new clogs I got for Christmas, but they are not as comfortable as I would like them to be :( They look great, but I'm sure they couldn't be good for the feet. Maybe as I wear them they'll get broken in for me.

For longer pant lengths - Very nice. My foot is a little wide and I'm having trouble wearing shoes as high as I used to and these mild platforms let me get a little higher without increasing the incline. I found them to be quite comfortable in this regard though a little stiff and needing to be broken in. I'll definitely get the same shoe in the other color.

Fun and funky! I love these shoes! I have received so many compliments on them and I only just got them. Even my husband admired them, and he rarely notices clothing. They can dress up or down, and I've found them to be very comfortable.

Wow love the boot.? Love the shoe really looks like a boot and feels like wearing a shoe. Many compliments on them already. A little cloppy on title floors but I probably will need to learn the right walk, not heel then toe...maybe toe heel.

Beautiful, but too large - These clogs are absolutely gorgeous. I felt a little wobbly when I put them on and stood up because of the platform height, but I'm sure I would have gotten used to that. Unfortunately I am unable to wear them, because they are a 1/2 inch longer than any 5 1/2 I've ever worn. They are also too wide, and I'm speaking as someone who has very wide feet. Even with thick socks I still had room to move my foot around in the shoe. They don't come in a 5 so I am out of luck, but for everyone else, I recommend buying a 1/2 size smaller.
