After a nearly five year frustrating search for the perfect everyday boot, I have finally found it. Like others have said, they're completely comfortable right out of the box. Better craftsmanship is rare, and they're worth every penny. They're obviously designed to support your foot properly in all the right places. A little western, but not 'cowboy'. These will go with me on every trip, no matter where I'm headed.

Great Boots. Got them in the dark brown yesterday. Bought my regular size. I wore them all day today and didn\'t want to take them off. Plan to buy more when I can afford it.

I love these boots! They are very comfortable and I like the fact that they are not all cowboy-like with too much stitching. I like the simplicity of the style. The only issue I have is that they run large. I usually wear an 8.5 and all the reviews said order down a size. So I ordered an 8.5 which was way too big, and I ordered an 8 which seemed to fit just fine. So I kept the 8s. However, since they are a nice soft leather, they stretched and now are a little too big. But I've worn them for about a month so now I'm stuck. But it's getting cold here now so I'll just wear heavier socks. My advice is the same as everyone else's: order a whole size smaller and you will be glad you did. One other thing that sort of baffles me about Frye is that the boots do not come with dust bags. It seems that a boot of this quality (and expense) would come with dust bags. I have a lovely pair of Born boots that I bought last year and they came with dust bags, which is great for summer storage!

Additional Brand Information

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

These boots are worth every penny! I purchased the tan color and they go with everything. They are super comfy and well made. They have a slight western feel without being too cowgirlish. Recommend 1/2 size smaller than your usual size.

I quickly received the white boots and just as quickly was so excited about their quality and their good looks. When I tried them on, I was so pleased with the fit and style. Comfortable, stylish, what else could you possible ask for. I will wear the white all winter since white is now for year round wear. I love Zappo for their vast selection and for their speed in delivery. I give 5 stars because there is no 6 star rating.

Buttery leather and soft cushion for your feet, no break in period necessary. Normally I wear an 8, but ordered a 7.5 & they're perfect. I did find the same boot at "Allens Boots" in Austin, TX for cheaper, but the boot itself is incredible. Just wish I would've done a little better shopping around for the price.

Love, love, love this boot. I usually wear 7-7 1/2 and the 7 fit perfectly. So comfortable from first day, no break in period required. And tons of oos and ahhs from friends! Thanks Zappos for the no shipping cost return offer, but I won't need it this time!

These boots are gorgeous and the color is even prettier in person! The leather is so soft, they will not have to be worn in order to "break them in!" They do run a tiny bit big; I usually wear a 9-1/2, in most shoes and boots, but I had to exchange the 9-1/2 I ordered for a size 9. The nine is perfect. I look forward to wearing these again and again. The boots are made for walkin'!

The boots arrived when expected and in great condition. They are beautiful! I love the red red color. I normally wear about a size 7 1/2 to 8 shoe, but the size 7 B is right for this boot for me. I have to wear a medium weight sock with it because it is a generous fit in the width. These are very comfortable as well.

I love these boots - I have been searching far and wide for boots like this. I didn't want boots that yelled "cowboy," nor did I want boots that growled "biker." These boots are the perfect hybrid. Also, the quality is outstanding, the leather is soft, and the boot is perfectly comfy (I've walked all around NYC in them). So far I've only worn them with jeans, but I suspect they'd look cute with slacks or dress, too.

Another winner - These will not disappoint. The leather is soft and the boot is very comfortable. I always wear a size 8 in Fyes while often wear an 8 1/2 in other brands and I have a moderately wide foot. The color of the Natural is gorgeous, like a taffy with some darker burnishing that adds interest. Easy to pull on.

Luxury, Comfort, and Good Looks! I've been searching for a black boot, suitable for jeans or dress, and I found it with the Frye Carson Pull On! It is a true black, very soft leather almost like lambskin, and true-to-size, as I normally wear a 7 1/2 medium, which is the size I bought. I wear the boots with a thin silk or woolen sock and it fits perfectly. It is expensive but well worth the money. It slips on easily and is lightweight. Many Frye boots I've tried are made of hard leather but this is the first Frye boot that is comfortable. It might be too narrow for anyone with a very wide toe width; however, the thin leather is flexible and could be stretched. I also have the tan Frye boot, same style, and both colors go well with jeans.
Other Brands Recommended by Reviewer: Camper boots - the soft leather is a generous fit.
