Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Love these boots. Have worn them every day since I received them last week. Very comfortable. They are so darling with skinny jeans tucked into them. They will last forever. I was intimidated by the price...but now am thankful that I got them. Thanks to Zappos for such terrific service. Can't wear them outside because of all the snow, but when spring comes they will be brilliant!

These boots rock! The leather is SO soft, and the woven shaft is a great style. I love the studded detail, and you can totally tell these boots have that great Frye quality that'll be sure to last forever. I've worn these boots almost every day since I bought them, and I get compliments all the time. They look so cute with everything in my wardrobe! The heel is high enough to be cute and feminine, but tits not too high to the point where your feet are fatigued after a few hours. I have no problem wearing these for eight or more hours.

These are so cute. Perfect height. It is a modernized cowboy boot. Rounded toe and the heel is a comfortable height. I walked around Germany for miles (because I was lost) the first time I wore them without a problem.

Gorgeous boot!. I pulled one of the boots out of the box and it slipped on my foot like butter. The color is rich, the weave pattern tastefully done, and the fit is great. It will take no time at all to break these boots in. Like all Frye boots, the quality is exceptional. I hesitated buying because of the price, but as soon as they went of sale I couldn't resist. If you are even considering these boots, buy them before they don't have your size.

I love these boots. I bought the dark brown, size 7. The leather is absolutely gorgeous - very supple and richly colored. The woven design is beautiful and unique. The inside of the shoe is quite comfortable - the toe box is a bit stiff now, but that's normal for a well-made pair of boots. Definitely worth the money.
