Frye has to take notice and improve the design of this boot. The lining at the top of the shaft can rub on the leg and it is rough. Stitches on the inside are also rough. It seems that it needs some finish soft leather at the top. Lining is synthetic not like Campus 14 model that has no lining and it is just the back of the upper leather. I wish this boot had a nice finish and I hope Frye will improve this. I will return this boot.

Best boots ever. Cute with jeans tucked in, tucked out, dresses and skirts. Fit and felt great, especially after first wearing. I have a thicker calf, so got the 12 inch to allow no squeezing, and being 5'4" they are proportionate. Love these, thinking of getting another color!

What a great quality boot. The only thing I found is that you have to wear high thick socks with them because they rub against your calves.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Great Frye Boots! Great boots, really comfortable. Needed little to no break in period. Felt true to size. They look really great with everything. Not only do they look good, they are made well. Can't miss with these.

Campus Boots Rule - Just got these boots in Saddle. I love them, reminds me of my middle & high school days (19??). Campus 12R are prefect with jeans, I would purchase Campus 14R if you want to wear boots with skirts. Zappos service has been great,a prefect fit for me. Enjoy!

gorgeous boots! These boots are exquisite! After an extensive search for the perfect boots for jeans and skirts, I stumbled upon these. They are quality through and through. Leather is gorgeous, they fit perfectly, and pull on easily. As you can tell, I highly recommend them!

I love the style of this boot and the shaft height is perfect for me at 5'4". However, I bought it is because it is made in America! I try hard to buy American. I bought the Frye because Double H no longer makes this style. I much prefer the Double H version! My Double H boots from several years ago are nicer and more comfortable. I have begged DH (in Altoona PA!) to make it again. The Frye is a bit narrow for me and I hate the elastic loops inside. It would be more attractive and more functional if they used leather loops (like on a cowboy boot). I also hate the "fabric" lining in the shaft. Other than that, I really like the way they look and the color. Stiff at first but they wear in nicely.

Mixed feelings. They are beautifully made and they fit close to my regular size - I would say they run slightly large, just a touch. I am keeping them because I love them on other people and I have wanted a pair for years. That said, they are an awfully big boot - very heavy and clunky - and it's taking some getting used to.

Great Boot But HARD to put on - It took me 15 minutes to get into these boots the first time I wore them. I have very high arches and you really have to maneuver both your foot and the boots in order to put them on. Eventually it gets easier but the first few weeks are a little rough. Size-wise they are true to size and contrary to other reviewers, I would not say that they run big at all! In fact they are a little on the narrow side. Have patience with these...they will be amazing once broken in, it just takes time and patience to do it.

Very disappointed that the stitching around the top of the boot is "unfinished," sewn with a thread that scratches the skin off one's calves and shins. Wore only a short time, but it resulted in sores on my legs. Great boot otherwise. Hard to believe that Frye would miss a detail like this, ruining an otherwise good product. I have yearned for these boots, but alas, they must be returned.

These boots are not leather lined, like most all fryes I've seen/ The leather is great and high quality, but I didn't think that the synthetic lining would hold up! So, I had to send them back.
