Not exactly a review, but I did have the good fortune to own a pair of Frye boots years ago. The style, comfort and overall appearance were far better than the highest rating of five stars you allow in the product ratings. I used and wore them enough over the years to have them re-soled and heeled. Mind you, that this was long before country music came to Philadelphia! My only problem was that my knees could not take the height of the heel. Were these riding boots? What I'd like to find are a pair of Frye boots with a heel made for an urban environment, ie, walking. Can you direct me toward the Frye boot that would suit my needs? Thank you.
Brands I'd also recommend: none. if you are looking for genuine boots of quality, comfort and workmanship, FRYE is the boot to buy!

I love these boots! I deliberated between buying the men\'s or the women\'s size and ultimately I bought the men\'s version. The women\'s tend to run narrow, and I wanted them to slouch down a bit at the top. It was a smart choice. These are the perfect height and color. The top is wide enough to accomodate skinny jeans, yet narrow enough to fit under boot cut.

I am so happy I found Zapposs through a Google search! I looked for this particular Frye Boot for so long in my size and color. Not even the manufacture had them in stock. I did a Google search for the boots and Zappos had one pair left! I ordered them and was going to pay for two day delivery, when I called customer service, they upgraded my order to 1 day delivery for free! I was so excited and my boots arrived on time and excepted! Zappos its a 100% A+ in my book.

These are great. I wear a 10.5 Nike Air Court Ballistec 2.3 and I thought maybe I could get away with a 10 here after trying on some Justin Ropers and them fitting nicely. I ended up returning and getting the 10.5's. Zappos was awesome, upgraded my next order to overnight or something like that. Very pleased with the boots and the customer service. Would recommend.

I bought these boots for my husband knowing I was taking a risk picking them out for him; but because I was ordering from Zappos, I knew any returns or exchanges would not be a problem. Turns out he loved these boots - the fit is great - but the color and oiled appearance is really "rugged" and awesome. Highly recommend these boots.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Boots just as advertised. Tough to put on at first but not unlike any other cowboy boot. Great experience buying with fast service. Zappos.com is now my go to site for shoes!

A great boot, looks good and very comfortable, no breaking in needed. Looking forward to purchasing a pair of Frye Calvary in tan when my size is available. Keep it up Frye and you'll be around another 100 plus years and to you Zappos, excellent service!

Bought these for my fiance and he loves them. Frye boots are very good quality. His only complaint is that during the (long) breaking in period the tops rubbed his shin raw.

Great looking boot and are very comfortable. The quality is very good even though the Billy Pull Ons are made in Mexico rather than the USA. I have always worn a half size smaller than normal in Frye boots and these are no exception. The fit is slightly narrow.
