These boots are beautiful, totally worth the price. I got these in the chocolate brown and red and I love them. The brown is a rich chocolate and has a weathered look to them. The red is a dark burnt red that goes with everything. Sizing wise they are smaller than expected. I usually run a size 7 1/2 and I got a 8 1/2 and they fit perfectly. They are easy to get in and they don't pinch your toes

I got these in the vintage chocolate color and boy am I glad I did! These boots are spectacular! they fit me perfectly! I caution that they do run about 1/2 size small. I usually take and 8 or 8.5 and the 8.5 is perfect! the stud detail is just enough to give it that special umph. Love, love, love these boots!

The pictures of this boot don't do it justice. Beautiful leather and workmanship. A tad snug at first, but fit like a glove after one day of wear. Awesome!

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

True to size and described well. The boot did hurt at ankle in the beginning due to rubbing, but is fine now since the surgery... lol. After two times of wearing them... perfect fit.

Have been on a search for a deep red boot for awhile and finally ordered this one. First try: could hardly get the left one on; right one went on fairly easily (probably had been tried on more and loosened somewhat). After using a shoe stretcher in the left one, concentrating on the ankle area, it loosened up sufficiently for me to get on and off more easily. If you love these boots but are having difficulty getting the ankle area to stretch, using the shoe stretchers might be the answer for you, too! I usually wear a 6 or 6.5; ordered a 6.5 and it's fine now. I think the 6 would have been too tight. I had a difficult time deciding to spend this much on boots, but I hope I'm glad I did!
Brands I'd also recommend: Merrell, Corral
