Boot look without the hassle - I really like these clogs for the Frye look without the weight of a full boot. (And no break in time.) Easy to slide on and comfortable for walking.

Boot Lovers - The perfect boot for summer. I've been wearing Frye since high school and didn't hestitate buying 2 pair of these great shoes - what I call my summer boots. Black and Crazyhorse. Comfortable doesn't even completely describe the amazing feeling these shoes offer! Try them and you'll see.

Cool, runs large - Very cool look especially in a shoe that isn't too high. I ordered my regular size but found I needed a size smaller. I don't think they come in half sizes, which would have been perfect. I used a little rubbing alcohol on the inside spots that felt a bit tight and all is well.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Mixed reviews from the family - I bought these because they look classy in a rugged sort of way, both in catalogues and at the Zappos site. However, I won't wear them much. Reactions from colleagues have been teasing (I work in a school, so some informality is okay). So, nope, not going to wear them much. Great service, though!

Kickin Boot-Shoes (Frye Harness mule) These look really cool and are well-made. There is less room across the "box" (the widest part of your foot) than there might be. There is plenty of room for the instep (top of foot) which can be a problem with other mules and slides. The insole is kind of rubbery which might bother some people.

Rockin' Mules! I've been a Harness Boot girl for a long time and now I'm a Harness Mule girl. I took the other gals' advice and opted for a 1/2 size smaller, and they couldn't be any better. Great looks, great feel, and loads of compliments.

Why don't they get it right.... Wow... cool shoes. But, like every other Frye I've had, runs small/narrow. The belt/harness thing slips & slides, especially behind the heel, so I'm frequently fooling with that. But it's cool enough so that I can wear it when it's too warm for my cowboy boots! Takes quite a bit of breaking in; beautiful leather, but it's a fight to get 'em to fit well. I finally succeeded; you'll love 'em if you do.

My shoe size falls between 5.5 and 6M and the 5.5 is the perfect size. I also have a narrow heel. For me, this mule is cut truest to size and width than the 12 inch and 8 inch Harness boots, which I also have. This is a versatile, between season shoe that looks good with jeans and doesn't require care. It will probably look better as it becomes more worn. It's a little heavy in weight, but quite sturdy and very comfortable without socks. Besides, who is going to pick up your shoe while you're out and about? I'm very happy with these shoes!

Frye Mule - Great looking shoe: true to size, rugged, comfortable. If you accidentally scratch the leather, just rub it with your finger and the scratch disappears. Love it!

Same shoe for less on Zappos! I'm loved this shoe when I saw it in a magazine. I thought I might be able to find it cheaper so I went on line to Zappos. I got the same shoe and saved ALOT! I also got free shipping. yipee!!

love my fryes - Just love them, though I had to send back for a half size smaller. I ordered the chestnut which are a awesome color, when I can afford to. I am ordering the tan crazy too. Made extremely well, that's Frye for ya.

How cool are these? I'm in love. I already have the harness boots, but these mules are perfect with skirts and capris. I think its great that these are made in America. I hope Frye doesn't get the idea to make these in China.
