The design of the shoes is what makes French Sole stand out from the plethora of companies that have sought to emulate their formula for success. Only French Sole combines a true ballerina fit (each shoe molds to the wearer's foot) for the ultimate in comfort with cutting edge fashion and a selection that is unmatched – qualities that clients come to expect and appreciate from French Sole Shoes. But aside from the myriad variety of ballet and other shoes available, it's the people behind French Sole that have really made it a success.
French Sole Shoes is owned by Randy Ochart, who has passionately focused on designing, manufacturing and marketing the hottest ballet flats in the world from Spain, Italy, France and Brazil. When asked about the future of ballerinas as a category, Ochart explained, "In a phase when it seems that everybody feels the need to re-invent the ballerina, we stand alone as specialists. The extraordinary factories we have worked with for so many years understand the distinction between a ballerina and a flat shoe with a string attached." The fit, look, and hand of a ballerina is what French Sole is about, not just a hot trend.

Great for comfort, conservative but nice styling, looks like a quality shoe and feels amazing. Of all the flats I've tried recently, this fits most of my criteria including 100% for the comfort factor. I wear a size 10, and tried the 10 and 10.5 and the latter was a perfect fit right out of the box.

These shoes are great! They fit slightly short (I usually wear a 7 or 7 1/2 in flats and I needed a 7 1/2). Zappos is amazing! I received my order in 24 hours!

These are lovely shoes but they are definitely a half size small. I always wear a size 9 in shoes that don't require socks--I ordered a size 9.5 and still they are too small. Another downfall is that there is very little arch support and the soles are completely smooth so I doubt they will offer much traction outside. They are cute though--I've been looking for ballet flats for a very long time and loved the little heel. Guess the search continues...

I did order a .5 size up from my usual 8, which was necessary. The 8 was too small...and I never take anything but an 8. I ordered this shoe in the same size in both the black and the tan, and oddly, the tan fit much differently than the black. The black fit well, while the tan felt too loose in spots and as if the material was pulling oddly across my foot. These shoes are a nice width for my feet. I have problems with painful corns on my baby toes, and these shoes do not rub in that spot at all. They are very soft both inside and out. However, they do cut across at the base of my big toe joint, and after a full day of wear, this area was red and sore and I was anxious to take them off. They also rub a bit on the back of my heel. I think for the price of this shoe, they should be more consistently sized and constructed. And I was hoping for a bit more comfort. Still, compared to many other flats, they are fairly soft and comfortable. They look cute and I like the little wedge heel.
