These are the best! I am a sucker for the cheap drugstore sandals because I love the plastic/rubber straps - then never get dirty or wet! The problem is they rip the crap out of my feet and are uncomfortable. In come Freewaters - these have all the appeal of that rubber strap but they are hands down the most comfortable strap I've put on my feet! The other thing I love is the material on the heel seems to be a little harder than the toe which means I don't get that huge heel crater like normal. Buy these - you will love them!

I can wear between 7.5-8.5 Wide E width woman's shoes depending on the manufacturer & design. I am keeping the brown size 8 as they looked the best on my foot. I really wanted to keep the green ones, but the 8's in the green were about 1/4" longer than the brown 8's & it just didn't fit or look as good. The 9's didn't seem to have much more space at the heel & they were way too long in the toe. Plus, with the curve of the shoe shape, it looked ridiculous (I actually prefer some extra space at the heel & toe). I recently kept a size 9 in Reef's Sweetwater Sandal which is like a higher class rubber thong. The Freewaters have a fairly comfortable toe strap & good fit, plus not too hard of sole. When I'm ready I plan to try this brand again.

I was very disappointed in these shoes. After wearing them for just 3 hours the design on the bottom started wearing off...and after wearing them twice I have huge white spots all over the bottom.

About Freewaters
-adjective, noun, verb
1. free: the feeling of being transported into instant vacation mode as you fling off the suffocating shoes and slip on sandals.
2. waters: the fundamental building block of all life; the sustainer of life; the purifier of all things negative.
3. freewaters: designing the best sandals ever seen and helping to find solutions to the global drinking water pandemic.
The purchase of one pair of Freewaters™ provides clean drinking water for one individual for one entire year.
Freewaters is a small group on a mission to improve the quality of life through superior product experience and by helping find solutions to the global drinking water pandemic. They are two industrial designers, longtime friends, and have a shared addiction to pushing the limits of design, wearing sandals 24-7, spending as much time in the water as possible and a common desire to make the world a better place.
As product designers, they grew tired of failing to find sandals with the fit, performance and styling that they wanted. Nestled deep in the redwood trees, their design studio sits triangulated between the undeveloped coast north of Santa Cruz, the epicenter of innovation known as Silicon Valley and the funk of San Francisco - inspiration on all sides.
As humans, they grew tired of procrastinating to make the world a better place. Freewaters believes access to clean water is a basic human right. With over 3,300,000 people dying every year from dirty water and a lack of proper hygiene, they felt compelled to get involved - and what better way then through creating great sandals.
They have just returned from Kenya where they initiated Project #1: a series of fresh water wells in communities of dire need in the western region of the country.
