I was surprisingly disappointed with these boots. The leather, an off taupy brown, looked fake and was really hard, no suppleness at all. Looked like one of those all man made materials kind of boots that you would see at Payless. Surprising, because I am normally a big Franco Sarto fan. The biggest yuck was the way the leather had 0 give, super hard, and didn't look like real leather. Fit was fine.

Just got this boot in black - comfortable, great look, calf fits well (I'm petite and have thin-medium calf). Love them!

I normally wear a size 10-11 and the 10 fit my foot fine. The material is high quality and picture is true to the actual boot. Sadly I have to return them because of the boot shaft. I have muscular calves and the boots would not zip up halfway.

I have these boots and I love that they are just a perfect height and very comfortable. I'm a hiker, 125 lbs, 5'3" and the calf fits nicely, not too snug or too loose. I had to buy a 1/2 size up to get it to fit in the width but I do have a slightly wide foot.

These shoes are great! They are a little bit narrow where my pinky toe is, but it's not bad enough that I am uncomfortable in them. I have runner’s calves and they JUST fit!

Just got this in delivered today and I was deeply disappointed. The color was great but the calf size is not true to its size. I have 16 calf and it barely zips up to my calf. It's going back to the store.

This boot was too wide for me and I really did not care for the color. I do wear a narrrow and sometimes I can place a pad in and that takes care of the extra width. With that said I did think it was a nice looking boot.

Brands I'd also recommend: Vanelli is wonderful for long narrow sizes.

I was really looking forward to receiving these boots after reading the rave reviews. I was very disappointed tonight when they finally arrived. Mine did not look as sleek as in the picture. As one other commented, the ankles are very wide, much too wide. In addition, I felt the toe looked stubby. Perhaps the larger sizes look nicer, having more length to them. Apart from looks, size of the shaft was also an issue. I wear a 7½ to 8, but ordered the 8 because 7½ was not available. I thought this would be safer anyway since some others felt the shaft was small for athletes. The 8 is true to size for my feet. I am a cyclist though (14½" calves) and could only get the zipper half way up. In addition, despite being medium width, the foot was very narrow. I had hoped the taupe would turn out to be lighter than in the picture, but it is pretty brown. I will retry with the Upton model, which comes in a stretch leather-look. Perhaps that would fit my calf (and the mushroom color is more like taupe). The boots also have a foamy interior, which nobody mentioned. I find that odd for leather boots.

I got these at another location and in Saddle Calf (fawn) brown. They are beautiful. I'm 5'10 and wear a size 10 boot. I actually had to go down to a 9.5 which never happens. The calf is narrow like other reviewers said. I don't have muscular calves and can zip them with just enough room. I can wear them all day at work and my feet don't hurt. I'm very happy with the purchase.

I bought these boots after several shopping trips as well as several online searches. I was pretty picky when looking for the right riding style boots, that kept a feminine look. I never tried these on in a store, never even saw them in a store. These boots are really comfortable and do not really feel like they have heels on them. I usually wear size 8 shoes, but I wear a 7½ in heels & dress shoes. The 7½ fit perfectly! The shaft circumference fits me perfectly as well. I measured my calves (12¾") and these fit really well with jeans tucked inside, with maybe a half-inch to spare. The color is pretty true to the screen as well. It is a nice rich brown.

Very disappointing. I have a pair of 5 year old Franco Sarto boots that I love! These were cheaply sewn, I couldn't zip them up and the lining was cheap.

Had to return these boots. I don't have muscular calves and couldn't zip up the boots. I'm 5'6", 127 lbs and my legs/calves are average size. The calves on these boots are very narrow! However, the shoe felt comfortable & true to size.

This boot is so comfortable. Lots of padding and arch support. Makes my leg looks so sexy. The circumference seems tighter than listed 16 inches though.
