I got this in a 5 which is usually my size. I found that these run about half a size larger. Maybe three quarters size larger. I can usually put a heel pad to keep the heel from slipping, but these slip even with a heel pad. I wish they came in 4½ because they are well balanced, perfect for work, and comfortable for the height. Oh well, they have to go back.

Lovely shoes. Really lovely. A modern take on a classic. So lovely that even though they are kind of uncomfortable I'm keeping them. These shoes are not for walking long distances. They slip a bit. I just purchased some pads to go in them so I'll see if that helps and I'll report back. I think that these shoes will be fine for days when I'm mostly at my desk or lecturing. Regarding the slippage: I tried the size 1/2 down and it was far too small. So there is just some sort of odd sizing issue. A friend of mine had the same problem.

These are beautiful shoes, but I found them to be about a quarter size too big. I tried ordering a 1/2 size down, but they were too tight. They slip in the heel, and I had to return them. Sad, because they're gorgeous.

I am wondering if the individuals who recommend ordering half to a full size down have had their feet measured recently. Mine have been measured within the past six months. I am precisely midway between a 7M and a 7½M and I usually purchase a 7½M with the possible exception of sandals. In any case, I ordered a 7M and I cannot even get my feet into these shoes. They are beautiful pumps, but I can tell wearing them would be absolute torture for me. I have not worn heels this high for years, and the shoes seem extraordinarily stiff. I have always loved Franco Sarto, but I do not love these. My bottom line -- be sure you know your true size and be wary of comments. I find them often confusing and contradictory.

Love Franco Sarto shoes, have worn them for years, and size 8.5 always fits me perfectly. BUT, these pumps are tight across my toes, and my heel pops out. They just won't stay on. Love the look and style, and the leather is beautiful. Alas....

These stretch a bit, so buy a half-size smaller. These shoes hurt more than other heels I wear, including ones that are higher. They pinch around my fourth and fifth toes. I don't know if this is just me or the shoes, but I don't usually have this problem.

They look great but they pinched my feet a lot. I've never had to buy wide width shoes but I should have with this pair. Once I figured out that they weren't going to stretch out at all, I returned them.

Love these shoes, but they are not comfortable. The toes are too tight, and the heels slip. I normally wear size 7.5, but hadnTo exchange for a 7. Neither fit well. Wish something could be done about the say they fit.

As much as I wanted this shoe to fit, it just didn't. Franco Sarto usually fits me beautifully, but this pair in my size was too long. Going down a size, I still walked out of the shoe and the toe box was too small.

Cute but the slip off the back of the heel. I bought an 8 and returned for a 7.5 and ended up returning that as well. They are comfortable they just don't say on my feet. :(

Overall, they are a very sophisticated looking shoe that is perfect for work or play. They fit fine - but the back heel portion is either too short or loose. My feet will not remain in the shoe even with heel pads. While my back heel fits against the shoe, there is a good .25" gap between the ankle and shoe. Not sure how I'm going to repair this issue since I love the look of the shoe!
