This is a beautiful tote! The leather is soft. The tote is roomy, it holds everything I need to carry, yet did not look bulky. I had ordered the Dooney & Bourke Florentine Satchel and was not pleased with the leather. The Fossil Explorer tote exceeded my expectations. You cannot go wrong with Fossil.

Positives first: Very stylish bag with two-way carrying of top handles or cross-body. Outside top zipper compartment holds an iPad nicely. Color options (black/brown) offered a classic contrast. Brass accessories and zippers were substantial. Negatives: Heavy even when empty. I typically like bigger bags (hence more weight) but this one is beyond comfortable to carry. No outside cell phone pocket, although outside zipper pockets could be used for phone. I prefer a slip pocket built into the leather. Deep, main inside compartment makes finding items difficult, plus the fabric matches the main outside leather color (black) - so it was like looking in a black hole. I debated long on whether to return the bag because I liked the look so much. In the end, I decided to do so as the functionality and comfort were not acceptable. Zappos is great though, and I will continue to shop with them. Considering the Fossil Vintage Reissue Tote.

Purchased the Fossil Explorer Tote in Cordovan its a nice deep berry color. I was looking for something of quality yet understated for everyday use. It's comfortable as a cross-body and the handles are just enough to hang around your wrist. The opening on top was not as wide as I anticipated, it was about 11 1/2 in length so my 15"x9" laptop would have to go in vertically. I was able to fit a soft 3 ring binder vertically along with some other soft cover books and the top was able to fall as seen. Its strong enough for everyday use the front pockets are deep and I think I'll get some other colors for variety.

I absolutely love this bag, it has tons of room, and alot of compartments to make it easy to find things, I have gotten many many compliments on this bag. The leather is very soft I got the russet color, which really goes with most of my shoes. So far this is the best bag from Fossil yet. When I saw it in Macy's I knew that I just had to have it. You will love it. Great for traveling also.

Gorgoeous bag. Worth the splurge ;) Very soft leather, spacious with interior dividing pockets. The bag was surprisingly heavy though. Peacock is a nice color, not to bright but not boring.
