Love this shoe. I got it because it looked like a cool kick-around shoe, but then I happened to go to Joshua Tree for a campout and wore these rock climbing...totally sticky, I felt like spider man. My only downside is that the sole looks pretty thin, so I am not sure how long they will last. Other than that they are great.

I've been wearing these shoes almost daily for the past 8 months and am quite happy with them. The fit and quality are great. They get a fair amount of compliments on their style. They make a great every-day shoe as well as a perfect hiking shoe. There is no arch support so I use some inserts by goodfeet and they make all the difference. The stealth rubber sole is tacky and grips well on everything...however, this is the one byproduct that is a downside, they will leave black scuff marks on everything. Just be careful where you're putting your feet around your mother's house...you've been warned. Apparently from 5.10 you can purchase replacement soles, though I'm not sure if that would be something a cobbler would be required to do or if that is a kitchen table job...good to know seeing as though the sole will wear much faster than other types of rubber. After seeing my pair a friend in a fit of jealous rage went and bought the leather model. I recommend them highly.

I bought these for myself and went to Costa Rica for vacation. Lots of rain forest and mountain forest walking/hiking. My feet were comfortable the entire trip. I think they are stylish and true to fit. I've worn them to work with jeans and would buy other products by Five Ten. Thumbs up. True to size with fit.

So I bought these because I fell in love with the 5.10 guide tennie (leather ones). I like these ones but they did not break in as nice as the other ones. After two weeks I am still trying to break them in but I have high hopes for them.

I use this shoe for low-grade climbing (class 4 - low class 5) where a full hiking boot is either suboptimal or dangerous. They're light, super sticky and were wonderful on everything I threw at them with the exception of a long gravelly slope (pebbles get inside low-tops). The wrap-around solid, sticky rubber toe piece is key. I highly recommend these to anyone who doesn't truly need a climbing shoe (slipper) for the ascent at hand. Climbing shoes have their place, but they really aren't pleasant to wear. In contrast, I could wear an approach shoe like this every day (but I don't so as to save them for terrain where I really need them to work their magic).

I'd also recommend: Vasque -- for hiking boots
