I've been using these shoes for about a month and love them. I have a wide foot and went with these because I've been told they are a great shoe for wider feet. I wear a 10 wide in normal shoes, so I went with a 10 here. They fit great for the climbing I do. I do not compete; I simply climb twice a week as a work out. I have no pain and great traction. They can be a little loose in the heel, but again I have no discomfort. Solid shoes!

Well, I have been a climber for almost twenty years. I have climbed everything from 5.8 to 5.14 and v0 to v12. I always look to Five Ten for new and amazing shoes. The Galileo is no exception, I've had at least three pair since '06. For long ascents, 60m sport routes, bouldering, or trad the Galileos are the best bang for your buck! If you have had a pair of the Five Ten Anasazi the Galileos are a great step up.
Brands I'd also recommend: five tens anasazi velcros

These shoes are great for edging and support your foot well. The toebox is roomy, which gives some relief when sizing tightly. After a few climbs the uppers give very slightly, providing a snug, but not painful fit. The padded upper liner is comfortable. I bought these at my street shoe size and my toes are moderately curled. The heel design is comfortable and was solid on my last bouldering trip. The heel height and angle are high, but it gets more comfortable after breaking-in. It will fit higher volume feet better than narrow, low-volume feet. Mine are toward the narrow end, but the velcro straps cinch up well. Great shoe!

Good Shoe - I just purchased these shoes a week ago and since then I was excited just to get them and take them to a wall. I am very impressed with the stealth onyx rubber, great performance. I ordered them a half size larger then my street shoe, I wear an 11.5 normally. And they are still very snug but still comfortable I expect them to stretch a bit based on other people so far I am completely happy with these shoes. They are very supportive they don’t bend easily so if you’re a bigger person like me I weigh 205 and am 6 ft tall they are awesome.

Amazing shoe! One of my go-to shoes for bouldering or route climbing. A great option for those who love the Anasazi and love ridiculously sticky rubber. Great for expert and beginners alike.

About Five Ten
A family owned company, 5.10 (also known as Five Ten) has stood at the forefront of fine craftsmanship, high-performance and fashion forward technical designs within the outdoor industry since 1985. Born with a rich rock climbing heritage, 5.10 is known worldwide for the high-quality, fit and friction of their shoes, where footwear can make the difference between success and failure. Today, they continue to bring their climbing heritage to all of their products, as well as exciting innovation, quality craftsmanship and unmatched durability. Climbers, kayakers, mountain bikers, hikers, trail runners, canyoneers, and everyone else who wants technical/fashionable outdoor footwear depend on 5.10 for safety, state-of-the-art innovation, and out-of-the-box comfort.
As a huge climbing enthusiast, Charles Cole, founder and President of 5.10, knows that a good grip on a well-made shoe means everything. Determined to create a better rubber to make climbing easier, Charles developed Stealth© rubber soles, which increase the amount of body weight the rubber could bear before its bond broke away from the rock. By merely purchasing a new shoe, climbers could better climb with a sure-footed grip. Pushing the envelope even further, Cole continues to expand 5.10 soles even further with Stealth© S1, Stealth© C4, Stealth© HF (high friction), Stealth© Amphibia (water compatible), and Stealth© ONYXX, which provides 25% more friction and is twice as durable as any other climbing rubber available.
Stealth© rubber was just the tip of the iceberg for Cole and 5.10. Responsible for today's modern rock shoe design, Cole invented a plethora of firsts which include: the first sling shot rand, the first down-turned last, the first heel wedge to cushion impact, adding pull tabs on both climbing and approach shoes, baseball stitching to alleviate hot spots, graded midsoles to adjust the shoe's flexibility to different weights, the first self-draining water shoe and the first ankle to toe lacing on an approach shoe to allow for a performance custom fit. Throughout the years, there have been various 5.10 innovations, and in the years yet to come, their dedication will lead to many more.
As the shoe-of-choice for the world's top climbers, 5.10 is 100% committed to innovation and performance. All of their unique footwear designs have been produced with one goal in mind: to do what is best for outdoor sports athletes who use 5.10 shoes. From hiking to paddling to mountain biking, recreational and expert athletes alike know that Five Ten means more than footwear- Five Ten shoes are essential equipment for adventure. Rest assured that 5.10 is working hard on next season's models and that they will be bringing something wild, new and exciting into the world of adventure sports.
Five Ten Where unique comfort, durability and technological advances combine to create the best footwear in the world.

Phenomenal For Edging - I found these shoes to be great for edging. The Onyx is nice and sticky and the last is nice and supportive. The shoes feel good in the gym but are a little stiff for my taste as far as bouldering and steep are concerned. If you're on vert or tech there is no other choice (aside from the anasazi lace-ups). A great all-around shoe. If you had to choose one shoe for everything this would be the pair. They stretch a bit once broken in so take that into account when sizing. Over all pretty true to size as far as climbing shoes go.
Brands I'd also recommend: Lace-up Anasazi, Moccasym (way soft-good gym shoe), Anasazi Velcro

Great shoes - Again, the service of Zappos is a 10 out of 10. The shoes are a great option for those who need a sole stiffer than Anasazi, but with a good grip. Considering I've been using Scarpa since this time, I'm very happy with these Five Tens. Maybe they are a little softer, but the sole feels a bit more sticky, so the balance gives a good result. About the size, I read that they don't get as big as others since they are synthetic. However, watch out! They still get a bit bigger. When I bought them, one foot was completely compressed in its shoe, now I feel that I have to tie them to the maximum, otherwise I feel it loose. I would say that they are half number smaller than the Anasazi. The straps let you tie them up fast, easy, and comfortably. Good shoe for wide feet also.

The shoe for heavy climbers. After trying different shoes from different brands, this is definitely the best for big climbers. I'm a bodybuilder so a stiff shoe really helps for climbing. This shoe was the stiffest I found, and fit was very good, though it took me 2 tries to get it right (thanks to Zappos' excellent return policy!). As far a sizing, I had tried various La Sportiva shoes, and for those, a size 9 fit me perfectly. For the Five Tens, I had to go to a size 10 (similar for my Five Ten biking shoes).

Get these shoes - The Galileo offers great performance and great fit. They don't have the scratchy seams of the Anasazi and they mold to the foot very quickly. Also, they can comfortably accommodate an average female foot.

Five Ten Galileo - These are very stiff and supportive. They're great for edging and the stickiness of the Onyx rubber makes them work pretty well for smearing too. The heal fits great with no signs of the air pockets for which the older Anaszis were notorious. They fit me pretty small and I had to go up a half size from my street shoes, but they hold my toes curled just right now.

Great Shoe - Very, very good rubber and a much improved heel for 5-10. Velcro closure is convenient and fast. Just one recommendation...if you are in between sizes go with the bigger of the two since this is an unlined shoe and it will not stretch. I wear 9.5-10.0 street and after suffering with a 9.5 pair for a month finally went to 10.0 and I'm not regretting if for a moment (fit is still fairly aggressive but not ridiculous). Overall great shoe go with street size and go up if in between sizes.

Fit great out of the box, the lining is smooth and comfy - no seams! I bought them curling tight, and they've held their shape quite well. Impressively powerful toes and heels (much better than the Anasazi's which are too bulky and low, in my oppinion). The only issue, which is completely cosmetic, is that these shoes get really dirty looking fast, even gym climbing.

Good Shoe - I climb indoors about three days a week 5-6 hours at a time and these shoes are comfortable enough to wear with only a few breaks to let my feet breath. The rubber is very sticky.

I bought these shoes in a bind because I wore out the toe in my La Sportiva Miuras and had to send them to be re-soled. I sized them a half size down from my street shoes and they fit tight, but not painfully so. The first time I wore them I didn't even think to remove them until after belaying the second up to my belay station. So far, I think they are similar in fit and performance to the Miuras. I climb mostly granite slabs and finger and hand cracks at a moderate level (5.6-5-10). Hopefully they will stretch a tiny bit and the Onyx rubber will wear. I climb outdoors two times a week and my Miuras lasted almost a year before they needed to be re-soled. If I had to choose between the two, I would choose the Miuras because the speed lacing is just as fast to get on and off as the Velcro, and it definitely allows you to fine tune the fit better. Next pair of shoes I'm getting is TC Pros; expensive, but based on rave reviews of everyone that has them, well worth it.
Brands I'd also recommend: La Sportiva, Scarpa, Mad Rock
