I have been climbing for about seven years. I have climbed in a lot of different shoes, but I have to say that the Five Ten Dragons are the best shoe on the market. The rubber is amazing and sticks to whatever I put my foot on. Five Ten Dragons are my shoe of choice and I put them on every time I climb.

Best climbing shoe on the market - The Five Ten Dragon has come a long way since its first velcro model years back. The shoe has become one of the best shoes I have ever climbed in and I am glad to say I will comfortably wear these on any terrain I encounter! The edging is phenomenal, the down turn makes steep terrain feel a lot less steep, and the shoe holds up quality wise for a very long time! Over all one of the best shoes I think that has ever been made for all types of climbing. And above all the rubber is the greatest out there!!!

Phenomenal For All Things Steep!!! In my 10+ years of climbing I have not come across a better shoe. The rubber is incredible; your feet will stick to everything. I feel like this shoe offers more versatility than its slipper counterparts in that you can leave them unlaced and shoes will still perform. I use these for everything but problems requiring intense edging (read: slabs). One downside is the downturn, if you're not used to it it'll throw you for a while. Be persistent!!! Once you get used to it you won't be able to live without it. Size snug but not too tight, they stretch a bit but once broken in they are way comfortable. Get these shoes and I promise you won't be disappointed!
Brands I'd also recommend: 5.10 V10, Jet7, Anasazi line. Vive le Stealth!

Tight Fit - Okay, so I normally wear a size 10.5 street shoe and ordered a 10.5 in these shoes from Zappos. The 10.5 fit a little tight. I am exchanging the 10.5 to Zappos and getting the size 11. So for these shoes, get half a size up from your street shoe. These shoes stick! My last pair were a pair of La Sportivas and they don't stick like these. It has been 9 years since I last climbed and these shoes have exceeded my expectations. Love ‘em!

I like this shoe even better than the original Dragon with velcro. It is by far the most amazing heel hooking shoe... and the toe is perfect for the smallest of chips on overhung problems or routes. Agressive!

About Five Ten
A family owned company, 5.10 (also known as Five Ten) has stood at the forefront of fine craftsmanship, high-performance and fashion forward technical designs within the outdoor industry since 1985. Born with a rich rock climbing heritage, 5.10 is known worldwide for the high-quality, fit and friction of their shoes, where footwear can make the difference between success and failure. Today, they continue to bring their climbing heritage to all of their products, as well as exciting innovation, quality craftsmanship and unmatched durability. Climbers, kayakers, mountain bikers, hikers, trail runners, canyoneers, and everyone else who wants technical/fashionable outdoor footwear depend on 5.10 for safety, state-of-the-art innovation, and out-of-the-box comfort.
As a huge climbing enthusiast, Charles Cole, founder and President of 5.10, knows that a good grip on a well-made shoe means everything. Determined to create a better rubber to make climbing easier, Charles developed Stealth© rubber soles, which increase the amount of body weight the rubber could bear before its bond broke away from the rock. By merely purchasing a new shoe, climbers could better climb with a sure-footed grip. Pushing the envelope even further, Cole continues to expand 5.10 soles even further with Stealth© S1, Stealth© C4, Stealth© HF (high friction), Stealth© Amphibia (water compatible), and Stealth© ONYXX, which provides 25% more friction and is twice as durable as any other climbing rubber available.
Stealth© rubber was just the tip of the iceberg for Cole and 5.10. Responsible for today's modern rock shoe design, Cole invented a plethora of firsts which include: the first sling shot rand, the first down-turned last, the first heel wedge to cushion impact, adding pull tabs on both climbing and approach shoes, baseball stitching to alleviate hot spots, graded midsoles to adjust the shoe's flexibility to different weights, the first self-draining water shoe and the first ankle to toe lacing on an approach shoe to allow for a performance custom fit. Throughout the years, there have been various 5.10 innovations, and in the years yet to come, their dedication will lead to many more.
As the shoe-of-choice for the world's top climbers, 5.10 is 100% committed to innovation and performance. All of their unique footwear designs have been produced with one goal in mind: to do what is best for outdoor sports athletes who use 5.10 shoes. From hiking to paddling to mountain biking, recreational and expert athletes alike know that Five Ten means more than footwear- Five Ten shoes are essential equipment for adventure. Rest assured that 5.10 is working hard on next season's models and that they will be bringing something wild, new and exciting into the world of adventure sports.
Five Ten Where unique comfort, durability and technological advances combine to create the best footwear in the world.

My sending shoes - Perfect for everything that is a little bit steep, the shape allows your toes to hook on small edges even on super steep walls. Perfect for bouldering and sport climbing, these are the ones that I am wearing all the time because I can really feel the rock through the shoe.

Hands down the highest performance shoe on the market. If you have a wider forefoot but still like to toe-in on small footholds on overhanging problems, this is an ideal shoe. The downturn is aggressive, but not overdone like the Testarossa. I would still use these for technical face problems like Stained Glass or Soul Slinger in Bishop. The only drawback is a Five Ten heel, which is improved greatly over the Anasazi line, but leaves some dead air space. Still great for heel hooks, amazing for toe hooks and incredible on small pockets and edges.
Brands I'd also recommend: Any Five Ten shoe: Jet 7, Project, Mocassym

Climbed for the last 16 years. 5.13b to V10. By far the best shoe I’ve ever used. Bought it sized the same as my street shoe (I wear a 7 in the Jet 7s and had to buy a 9 Dragon).

These are awesome shoes, though they take a bit of pain to break in. I wear a 10 wide or 10.5 regular US, and the 10.5 Dragons are a perfect fit for me.

This shoe is, far and away, one of the best shoes on the market. The original dragon was awesome, and this upgrade improves upon it in a multitude of ways. Precise and sticky - a welcome addition to anyone's arsenal of sending gear...

The Five Ten Dragon has been my favorite rock climbing shoe for the past 3 years. Whether the terrain is overhung or vertical, the Dragons excel above the rest. The Stealth HF rubber provides the power and friction to take on steep climbing. Also, the aggressive shoe is excellent for heel and toe hooks. I highly recommend these shoes.

If I could only have one shoe for steep climbing this would be the one! The Dragon has been my shoe of choice for years. I was still using an old pair of the velcro version when these new updated lace-up came out. This new Dragon is far superior to the old one, with a better heel and glove like fit. The combination of the down turned toe and stealth rubber will help you pull with you feet like no other shoe can. I wear my street shoe size and they are perfect.
