Fit is alright. Presses on Achilles tendon but will stretch. I thought a leather, non-Gore-Tex-type boot would keep out dust and grass seed and not be a sweat-box like most Gore-Tex-type boots. Dust and grass seed come in the places the boot is designed to ventilate. Makes them useless on any dusty and/or plant covered surfaces...socks/feet get full of dirt and crude when wearing gaiters. Disappointing is the word. These are town, or "domesticated outdoors" boots, only.

So the one star review is not really a good view of these shoes. First they are not boots. They are for everyday use or day hiking. They fit pretty true to size and same as other 5.10s that I own. They have excellent grip, which is expected. They are great shoes for their purpose.
