I'm so disappointed. The boots are beautiful, exactly what I wanted. After reading reviews I decided to order a wide boot, but they just don't work. I like to wear skinny socks, but I can't due to the very snug fit. Plenty of toe space, but just too tight. Darn.

I love these boots! Comfort, height, funkiness - they have it all! The wide toebox is particularly appreciated. I walk about a half mile to work and back, so I have high standards for comfortable and stylish shoes I can wear all day. There is a gel-type cushion built into the heel of the shoe - at first it felt to me like the insole might be peeling out or sliding forward, but I got used to it quickly and have come to appreciate the cushion as it helps me stand longer and walk farther without fatigue. I also really like the longer shaft, as I can cross my legs without my socks showing,unlike most other ankle boots.

When I first tried on these boots I was worried about the width. I don't usually wear a wide so I ordered the regular width. They were a bit snug around the arch at first, but after wearing them for a day they stretched out a bit and fit great. If you are someone with a wide foot, definitely opt for the wide. I ordered a 1/2 size larger than what I usually wear and the length was perfect. This is a great boot, and with the chunky heel, it is easy to wear all day, very comfortable.

Love the style, but it was at least a whole size too small. In Chicago winter, you wear thicker socks, but even thin trouser socks were very uncomfortable with these boots. I love the square toe and the chunky heel, which are so hard to find these days! The stitching on the outer part of the sole is rubber, rather than real thread stitching, but nobody would be able to tell. Overall, love the look, but will try a larger size. I usually wear 8.5 and will try the 9.5, as the 9 was too small.

These boots are fabulous! It's hard to find a chunky heel anymore. I bought a 1/2 size larger (because of the reviews) and they fit great. I do have a wide foot and that wasn't a problem for me (as other users said that may be something to watch for). I did have to put a half insole in for more comfort on the heel and arch, but other than that, they worked out well. The leather is thin with a suede lining, so they are definitely a dress boot. I love them; I bought the black ones and soon as I got them, I turned around and bought the brown ones!

I normally wear a 7.5 medium and ordered these in a 8 wide based on reviews. They fit perfectly and are quite comfortable. I'm not in love with the way they look, but overall like them enough to keep them.

I was unsure at first... When I got the boot, putting it on with my regular tube socks was impossible. I thought the shoe was a full size smaller than marked. So I wore them around the house on carpet with thin trouser socks for about 30 mins. The next day I wore them to work (I'm an accountant, so I'm up and down periodically). By the end of the day, the boots had begun to stretch because they are leather. I've had these boots for over a week and I wear them 3 to 4 times a week. I love these boots now. I have gotten tons of compliments; they look great, feel great, and get great traction.

Great stylish boot for a decent price - I purchased these boots for work because they seemed to be a comfy boot at a reasonable price. I couldn't afford to shell out the money for boots from a known brand like Born, so these seemed like a viable option. Upon opening the box, I was a little surprised at how "cheap" they appeared, but after wearing them a bit they softened up a little and looked much nicer than I originally thought. I ordered these in a 9.5 (normally an 8.5-9 depending on width) and was glad because the 9 I ordered in black was way too small in the arch. I think the 9.5 are a bit too big, but the arch is so snug that a 9 wouldn't do. I also have a wide foot, and didn't notice problems with these boots as far as width was concerned. I also liked that despite my large ankles and calf, these boots fit. I have a hard time finding boots that fit because of this, but I think the height was perfect to accommodate my large calves. Lastly, I also ordered the Gabriella Rocha Melissa boot because I wanted to see which would fit better. They are the EXACT same boot. The ONLY difference was the little Fitzwell gel bit in the heel. I guess both places get the boot from the same generic factory because every other detail was exactly the same. I chose to keep these because of the gel bit, though it is rather useless in the heel, would be much better in the toe portion. I would like to add a full gel insole, but think that with the low arch clearance this will be impossible. Overall, some flaws, but for the price, I got a decent boot for work and for walking around the city. In Germany this is truly an accomplishment.

Shaped funny - This boot looks cute but there is something strange about the way it fits. I normally wear an 11 or an 11w and ordered an 11w. This boot fit on the length but the width was entirely too narrow. Further, the shoe feels as if it presses down from the top. Perhaps it would be a better fit for someone with low arches and narrow feet. This was my last attempt at the Fitzwell brand as every shoe I've tried from Zappos with that brand has been badly sized.
