A manipulation advocate will name something that which it is not in order to facilitate misdirection. Using the term police action when by all definitions it is war is a classic. The comfort in this case must be qualified in order to hold true. If you will note the toe box you will see in the top view that both straps curve inward as they progress toward the front. This pulls directly on the tarsals instead of the metatarsals. If you are a big fan of foot binding in the traditional Japanese practice or have shoved your mutely protesting foot into a pointy, unnatural shape because of current fashion or bargain you may find these shoes comfortable. As to the top strap, the two side wings stop short of the center, leaving the nylon strap to press directly upon the tibialis anterior, which as we all know flexes with every step as the foot angle becomes acute. This may be mollified if one were to wear socks. If your instep were the perfect height for the two wings to meet there would still be a space, or worse, an overlap which the flexor muscle would press against each time the foot is flexed. One other approach to achieving comfort is to simply ignore it. Shame too. Its such a pretty shoe. This is what I have found. Your results may vary. What is quality? R.M. Pirsig

I love this shoe, but like another reviewer, must return it do to a very short ankle strap. If you have a high instep, this won't work for you. What a shame, because it's a wonderful shoe.

I was really on the fence about ordering these sandals. Previously, I tried MBT rocker shoes and found them uncomfortable. Also, I stay away from Euro sizes, because Mephisto shoes never fit me. Lastly, most of the Finn line looks rather "matronly", so I wondered if these sandals would look good. Once I took the plunge and ordered a pair, I became totally hooked. Really great comfort (I even use them when running on an elliptical trainer), perfect fit and they look very "young".

I loved these sandals from the first time I put them on my feet. I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes are so wonderful that I don't feel sore heels at all. The velcro stays tight and the fit is really fantastic.

I'd also recommend: Dr. Scholls, Natualizer, work for high insteps.
