Good shoe - Finn Comfort are the only shoes that I wear without my orthotics. The arch support is just that good. I can wear them all day, walk miles and my feet feel great!

I found My Finn Comfort shoes here after a long exhausting local search. Local dealer here in town special ordered months ago, but could not come through. No one else had these in stock nor could they give me any kind of time frame as to how long they would take to order. They were in stock at Zappos and I had them well within the time frame that was I was told. Great, perhaps the best quality shoes made, fair price, great service. I'll be back.

I've just purchased my second pair of Pretorias. They have saved my career, nursing on my feet 12+ hours a day. The slight rocker sole gives my very high arch support. The wide toe box fits my splayed foot which has a bunion. My narrow heel is held in the shoe by it being a lace up. The best part of this shoe is that the insoles can be purchased separately at a much reduced cost when worn down, and the shoe's solid construction holds up to rugged use. To get longer wear because I work them hard, I am purchasing a second pair to use while I rest the other pair, a trick I learned from a coworker. I also own three other styles of Finn's. The shoe beds vary, and working with Zappos and Finn customer service I've identified which foot bed is the best for my foot and now am able to work and dance and walk in true comfort!

I have custom cork orthotics made for me because I have plantar fasciitis and high arches. Because my orthotics are thick, the Finn Comfort Pretoria is one of the few shoes other than my New Balance athletic shoes that my orthotics fit into. The insole that comes with it is thick, so when you take it out the shoe will accommodate the custom orthotic. I will never wear the shoe with the original insole. But that being said, these shoes are wonderful! I think it has to do with the stability of the shoe as well as the design. So those of you who are looking for a dressier shoe than an athletic shoe which will accommodate orthotics, this is the shoe.

I know everyone else loves them, but I just can't get on board. I've got ball/nerve issues and for some reason, while the same footbed (Finnamic) for the Salo (Maryjane) and the sandal styles are all very comfy, this one doesn't feel as good for me. Maybe I just can't get past the way they look (charred dinner rolls, a la Charlie Brown, anyone?). Style is a luxury I can't really afford with my foot issue, but still--a girl can ask. One word of caution--while they seem nicely waterproof (good for light rain, etc), the bottoms can get fairly slippery in heavy rain, or sleety conditions, probably partly because of the rocker. So be careful there.

These Finn Comfort Pretoria 2901 shoes have the Finnamic design, with a great footbed that has excellent arch support. The footbed is kind enough to my sensitive feet, while at the same time the shoe offers excellent control for my contrary feet, which over-pronate. My little toe has developed a "tailor's bunionette" and it's hard to find a shoe with a wide enough toe box to take the pressure off of my bunion. This shoe has a wide toe box. The toe box avoids coming to a point, hurray. This is very hard to find in a shoe. My podiatrist advises shoes that are wide in the toe box. In this shoe I need a size 6 UK which is 8.5 Womens. But in most brands of athletic shoes such as Brooks I fit in a Women's 9. In this Finn Comfort Pretoria shoe, the leather is soft and supple...my podiatrist has suggested leather for me because when I have selected the shoes I'm keeping, we can use a spot stretcher to stretch out the shoe near my bunion. This particular shoe is Unisex sizes I think. I also have a high instep, and for women like me, it is sometimes better to wear a unisex shoe or even a man's shoe...instead of cramming our feet into an ill-fitting women's shoe. Good luck! If you haven't tried a Finn comfort Finnamic shoe before, you should know that it will feel different from other shoes. I recommend wearing it around the house at first and see how it feels.

Keep in mind that Finn Comfort shoes have a medium arch. But since I have a very high arch, Finn Comforts don't work for me. I wish they worked, because they have beautifully soft leather and are well made! Keep in mind these also have rocker soles. I tried these on in my house, but the rocker soles don't work for me with my particular foot and hip issues. I am getting custom orthotics made for me. I am interested to read some comments by others that if you have very thick custom orthotics, they could work in this shoe. (However remember this is a rocker sole.)
