The final decision has been made...these are my winter boots. Yes! Unlike Uggs, I can actually slide my high in-step feet into these (no need for shoe laces) which means when properly sealed with protectant, no wet feet. They do run about 1/2 size large (and are quite generous in the width) so if you are a true 1/2 size go down. I would not recommend going down one whole size if you are going to wear socks...plus, by cramming your foot into the boot you are losing the effect they are supposed to have. The wool surrounding your foot should remain as fluffy as possible. This allows for a good flow of circulation allowing your feet to stay warm when needed and to not overheat when not needed. The only issue with the boot was the snugness at the opening but I have a large calf circumference; fortunately I know the brand well enough that I know how they will form to my shape. Another bonus...the foot-bed lining can be replaced when getting worn so with proper care of the boot these will last for a very long time! I just received these and could not be more pleased with these boots! They are super super soft, have nice support to them, they do not bunch up. The wool and hide are not separate like some, but are 2 sided like Uggs which makes better quality. My advice, if your looking for cute ,warm, super soft great quality sheep skin/wool boots--save your time and money and go with this brand, you will be pleased.

I found this boot to be snug in the front and slides off in the heel. To request a size larger would have made the slippage worse. No comparison to the Ugg boot, but you get what you pay for.

I have 2 pair of Uggs and wanted to try EMU. Love the look of the boot, really soft, and they fit around my calves great. But they felt a size too small and my heel kept slipping out of the shoe. Had to return unfortunately.

So excited about this boot! Looks so good on and feels so comfortable and warm! Is identical to a stinger hi only with a strip of wool up the side and around the top rim. Very comfortable, warm and cozy. Wear a 9 1/2, ordered a 9 and it fits perfectly. Unlike other reviews, I have no problem with my heel slipping. Beautiful color. Wonderful boot! So expensive looking too!

This is my second pair of Emu's and I absolutely love them. When I first tried them on I thought I was going to have to return them because they felt a little snug and slipped in the heel area (I had thick socks on). Then I tried them on without socks and they fit a little better but still felt a little snug. Then I wore them around the house and to the store and now I can wear them with socks. You have to wear them in a little for them to fit well. They were surprisingly true to size, my old Emu's are a size 6 in kids so I thought for sure I would have to order a smaller size but I didn't. I have never owned a pair of Uggs so I can't compare, but in my opinion these are the most comfortable boots ever. They also came super fast, I ordered them on a Monday night and they came Wednesday.

I received this shoe about a month ago and I love it unreservedly! So very warm and comfortable and much better quality than a cheaper version I had a few seasons ago. Runs huge. I generally wear 8 1/2, ordered an 8 and I wish i had tried a 7.

I like these boots. I was hoping for the toe box to be a bit wider as I have bunions but I am able to wear them comfortably and I like the way they look and best of all, they keep me warm. I live in New England and this winter has been brutal.

Great boots! I love them, they are so warm and cozy, and not heavy to wear. The pattern on the sole gives a good grip too, we have had snow and ice and they were fine. They arrived just in time before the last winter blast due to the mailing being upgraded as a surprise, thank you Zappos!

I usually wear about a 9, so ordered one, but it was too small. I then ordered a 10 and fits well. Very warm and comfortable.

I absolutely love Zappos. They have the best customer service ever! Quick delivery, and the best return policies when you order the wrong size. Absolutely love the Emu boots. Just as good as Uggs.

I'm really glad I got these. After calling a local store to see if they had Uggs, a short conversation convinced me that I needed Emus instead (and these were on sale when I bought them so it was an even better purchase). They are actually made in Australia, whereas Uggs has been bought out and are now made in China, where the quality has not remained the same. Also, they have rung true to size for my feet, and it's hard to resist wearing them every day. It makes winter a little more fun to be able to wear a cute outfit with skinny jeans tucked in nicely to the boots, and still be so comfy!

Fit runs a bit small. I normally wear size 8 and had to order size 9. The ankles feel a bit bulky, but they are flexible and easy to walk in. Very comfortable, warm, and lightweight.

Awesome boots - I was always anti the whole Ugg look, but after watching my sister run around in her Emus last winter while my feet were wet and freezing, I decided to give it a try. They feel awesome - am usually a 7-7.5 and I went with a 7 because my sister said they should be snug because as the lining wears in they get looser. They are snug and comfy and I think I did the right thing size-wise. Great color, fit nicely over leggings and skinny jeans, if you want to wear them with looser jeans I suggest getting the shorter version.

Adorable boot!! But I agree that it slips way out in the heel area and I can't get used to no matter with or without socks. I really don't want to, but I think I will have to return it!
