I really like the way these shoes look. I bought them for the skate park but I also wear them at work. The heelcup appears to be made of pretty rigid material and this has protected my heels a couple of times. These shoes do run smaller - about a half size for me, and they are not wide. I had checked out other reviews so this was not a surprise. However the snug fit made me wonder if they were too small at first, then I realized there was no pain or discomfort - they just fit closely. My only complaint is that the white laces seem to be picking up color from the shoes and turning pink. I will be replacing them with red laces soon. I can't speak to durability as I haven't had them very long, but I love them so far!

I was super disappointed because I really like the look of the shoes, and they looked great on me. After wearing them around my house for about an hour I noticed that my feet were really starting to hurt, and noticed that they were slightly narrow in spots that should be wide and vice-versa. I tried adjusting the laces and all that but nothing helped. I had to return them.

shoe fit and felt great for first few weeks. inside fabric wore out extremely fast on outside toes until toes were rubbing against bare canvas/suede, which became unbearably painful. MUCH narrower than your average skate shoe (normally where Vans). also, the tongue was a bit large for the shoe. pants definitely had to be tucked behind it or it was just awkward. I'd suggest going up one half or full size if you have wide feet to any extent. other than that these shoes got more compliments than any previous pair ever.

I like the style and color of these shoes. Very simple and elegant. I don't skate with them. After 2 months of daily use they still look and feel great. The price is reasonable as well. Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Best skateboarding shoe ever made. Unrivaled durability, board feel, and support; yet all of these come at an affordable cost from a valued skateboarding company. Those are the facts, my opinion is that the Romero Laced is a good enough shoe to displace Nike from the skate game!

The size was true (14) and the comfort was great, especially for something so thin, but after five months the outsole separated from the midsole and my big toe would poke out and if I walked through a puddle I needed to change socks. Nice look but I will stick with the old standby from now on.

Bought a size 9.5 pair. They were way too narrow around the toes and I had to return them. You should order at least a half-size larger.

I rarely (never) write reviews but I felt compelled to do so regarding these shoes. As others have stated they are quite narrow, and despite my hopes have not stretched out at all. They also have very little cushioning. It is something to keep in mind if you plan on being on your feet for very long. My feet ached after wearing them for a few days so I bought some padded insoles for them, which helped a little but made them even tighter on my feet. I quit wearing them for a few months then decided to give them another shot, with the same results. Still, they do look good, and I wish they were more comfortable. I still wear them if I know I won't be standing/walking for extended periods, but I will not be ordering another pair.

The shoes were a gift and the recipient loved them! However, the size I ordered did not fit so I contacted Zappos to exchange them for a larger size and could not have been nicer or more helpful!! The new pair arrived without charge and before they even received my return of the smaller size! 5++++ stars for Zappos customer service!

I purchased these quite a while ago. I skate once a week and I feel I skate them hard; eight hours at a time. These still have no hole in the side toe area and have finally started going baldie on the push foot. I would definitely recommend these!

These are not nearly as comfortable or well-made as the cupsole version. The rubber that runs along the edges of the shoe was cut unevenly on the bottom. There is black stitching on the tongue that doesn t look like it belongs and it doesn t match the other tongue. You can also feel the hard plastic supports in the back of the heel. They are also narrower than the cupsole version, but I liked that the toes was less boxy on these.

My 15 year old loves these shoes. Wears them every day and they hold up well. He has sort of wide feet, but the shoes are very forgiving. He doesn't complain about them being too tight. Seem to fit true to size. Obviously are not shoes for sports, just to wear to school and around town. He has other shoes specific to basketball and tennis.

Wound up returning because the toe area is very low; As in when wearing you could see the bump of my big toe on the top of the shoe. Great looking shoe. Felt well made.

These were for my son. He usually wears a Vans slip on in size 13 but had to have these in a 12. I think Vans run large. These have held up okay for school and work so far. They could accommodate his custom orthotics; something difficult to find with a somewhat stylish casual shoe.

I liked these shoes but they do fit a little tight, I usually wear 11 but I had to return them and get 11 1/2 and still are pretty tight fitting. Everything with the delivery was great, arrived pretty quick and when I exchanged them it was easy and convenient and they did the exchange pretty quick as well.

Unfortunately this shoe seems to have gone down in quality since I bought them in 2014. I purchased a pair in June 2014 that lasted about a year. The pair I bought in May 2015 has only lasted 4 months and the left shoe top is separating noticeably from the sole in two places, with only light daily office wear. It's an incredibly comfortable shoe, but it's unfortunate that they no longer seem to last.

Definitely heed the comments about sizing! You'll want to size-up by half a size, in part because they are unusually narrow and the angle in the slightly pointed toe makes them feel tighter. It's unusual for me to size up, but this required it. For reference, I'm a 9 in Vans, size 9.5 in these babies. That being said, they're great. I love to skate, but I've never been sold on skate shoes as fashion, so the low profile and design subtlety of these is really a welcome departure from the huge clonky 90's shoe. Emerica has consistently produced my favorite skate shoes since my first pair of Reynolds 20 years ago, and the design of these and the Figueroa (pretty similar) feels like the future. The sole is really killer at taking impact, there's a ton of boardfeel, and even though they're super thin and it's very clear that you'll shred through these twice as fast as something like the 90's Reynolds, they're also about 40% cheaper. So you take a slight financial hit for the sake of style, but it's not exploitive, and the price suggests that Emerica planned this thoughtfully. If you want to skate well-built shoes that feel great, but you don't want to walk around looking like a 16 year old boy, these are perfect.

I had the cupsole version of these and they were way better. These would have been fine if the toebox wasn't so narrow. There's another reviewer on here that's saying the same thing. Buy any other shoe Emerica has to offer, these are uncomfortable. This is coming from a person who has been wearing emerica's since day one.

These are probably the most comfortable pair of emerica's I've ever had. Maybe even the most comfortable skate shoe of all time for me. However, the durability with these is lacking more than the other models they have to offer. These have a very thin layer of suede and canvas with no reinforcement. It probably has to do with how comfortable they are right out of the box, but I don't see these lasting as long. If you're a techy street skater that does a ton of flip tricks, these will shred apart in a week. If you're a transition skater that doesn't do a lot of flip tricks, these shoes are perfect. I will keep buying these as long as they're out even though they won't last as long. The comfort is top notch, and the style is basic yet crisp.
