These are classic skate shoes for when you want to bust out those FS 180 Kickflips down some gaps like The Boss. They are affordable, too. However, I feel that they could been made of more durable material. Downside; The couple pairs that I have owned and skated have shredded to the point of where I could not kickflip without my pinky-toe bleeding from the grip wearing through the suede and my sock. This was a week after I purchased the shoe. I wanted a back-to-school skate shoe and had learned FS flips at the time and wanted to show my support. On the first day of school, unfortunately it was time for new shoes. After I disposed the now non-reliable shoes, I then purchased the Supra skate shoe- Erik Ellington pro model which was sick. Durable leather, sick colorway, Suprafoam for impact support, etc. They lasted me probably a year and I spent a few bucks extra. I like Reynolds but was not too thrilled with the pro-model shoes to be honest. I love watching him skate though, and whatever he is comfortable riding in, is purely in his control. And so are you. I am not trying to imply that these shoes are bad. They are decent. I would not not consider purchasing them if that helps you make a more informed decision. But I skate Supras and Nike SBs lately, they may cost a few more bucks but my trick was to buy them on sale. They are worth the purchase regardless because they would last longer than these would. Surprising too because the now defunct eS skate shoe company was co-partnered/merged with Emerica and Etnies but I found my favorites at the time to be 1: eS (n/a) 2: etnies 3: emerica. In conclusion, even though I like Supras, I would not rule out buying these shoes. Especially the mid-top (extra ankle support).

The Provost is the best! Super comfortable - good quality! I have 3 pairs now - different colors and people are always asking me where I got them. Highly recommend! (Get them from Zappos.com and they rock!)

Shoes are pretty stylish and good for the price. Fit well, takes time to break in though.

They are really flexible and good to skate/ regularly wear. You just need to break them in a bit to make them look an feel normal. The shoe laces that came with it were way too long so I just switched them out. Overall a really good pair of shoes.

I have a few pairs of Emerica shoes that fit perfectly, so I was very disappointed when these shoes didn't fit. The toe area is squeezed down at the widest point of the foot. I don't know if the next size up would fit better, but it would be a size larger than my other two pairs.

These were a true fit. Stiff at first like any shoe, but they loosen up pretty quick. I can't judge arch support very well but it seems fine. The only thing I will say that is a drawback is the sole separates a little bit from the gray body after it gets a little wet. This is only in two spots and is a very small opening.

Great shoes! They are well-made and last about 4 times longer than their similar competitor. My boys are hard on their shoes, so Emerica is a must in our household.

If you loved the original Laced you'll love these. It is just a robust version of the original. The stitching is great throughout the shoe. There is also an ortholite insole in the shoe. If you can believe it the shoe is even more low profile than before, and a bit more narrow. It isn't an issue though, the shoe fits great. Emerica is one of the best quality skate shoes on the market right now. Also Zappos also does a great job, next day shipping for free, you guys are awesome! Ill definitely be back to buy more!

Nice understated skate shoe, done in the 'plimsole' style. The sort of corduroy-style weave in the fabric is a nice touch, and makes this a nice option for 'casual Fridays'. Overall quality seems quite good.

These shoes, like all Emerica shoes that I've had look great and are top-quality, but these ran a full size smaller than usual. I was hoping these were more like the classic Reynolds 2s that I'm trying to replace, but not quite.

A little stiff at first but they brake in well. Also, the material is durable and you can easily wipe away stains.

There is a thick seam that rubs on the back of the heel, extremely uncomfortable. Too bad because they look great.

I really like this shoe's appearance which works with jeans or khakis. And it fits my wide foot well. It is more comfortable than I expected an all-canvas top shoe to be. I have tried other plain canvas tops (Vans) that were harsh feeling at the tongue and lace area when tied snug. The seams dug into the top of my foot and became painful after a while and I had to loosen the laces, even with fairly thick socks. Vans styles with some padding in the tongue and uppers around the foot were very comfortable, though more pricey. These Emerica shoes feel fine without any padding in the tongue. Though I like the looks, a touch of color accent in the black tops would be even better. Like having the lace holes match the brown sole (but keeping the black laces). I have worn them a few times and the wrinkling in the uppers behind the toe area is pretty minimal and they still look almost new.

I'm really glad I kept this shoe. It was a pretty stiff at first, and felt a little big when I put it on, but I really liked the style of it (it looks a little more classy than a lot of tennis shoes I've owned), so I decided to stick it out. After a couple of weeks of breaking it in, it started fitting perfectly. I'm a sad that the color I bought ("Grey/Grey Cotton Twill", though it comes out a little more navy than grey) is gone, because it really does look pretty sweet, as far as casual shoes go.

Probably the best shoes I've ever bought. They are very comfortable shoes, and fit very well. They also feel like they've been constructed from quality materials; it doesn't feel cheap and won't fall apart.

The width on this shoe is listed as average. It is average...if you're a 12 year-old girl. Great shoe, no arch support is obvious, a nice flat shoe. Didn't need to return the shoes, just a bit tight until broken in.

First, I'll just say this, I love this shoe so much, I've got 3 pairs in 3 different colors and ordered another pair in the new grey color. They are super comfortable for walking, driving, etc. Unfortunately I had to throw a pair away after a crazy firework came at me and I had to run through a swamp to avoid getting hit, so one pair is toasted (tried rinsing the shoes off and leaving them out to dry, but the upper suede was completely ruined). Like others have said, it is about a half size larger than what you would normally wear, but besides that, these shoes are awesome. They look great with just about anything too.

Thanks to the first reviewer for pointing out that the shoe runs half size big. Took a few days to break them in; the cushioning is fantastic. The side vent is genius, looks cool too. Laces are set towards the inside of the shoe to prevent breaking, a nice little detail. Durable and grippy outsole with a nice pattern, haven't shown much signs of wear so far (3 weeks). The only con is the heel collar. There's no notch for the Achilles, so it slips when I'm pushing. Lacing up to the top eyelet helped with that. Great shoe overall, will buy again for sure. I gave it 4 stars, really is a 4 1/2.

Pretty cool shoe, comfortable, and seems somewhat durable, although I don't suggest skating in them cuz you will probably tear right through the canvas. My biggest complaint about the shoes is the grip. The bottom of the sole is made from two different material, the brown gum that you usually find in skating shoes, and the black part is a weird furry material that feels like carpet. The "carpet grip" has no grip to it whatsoever and easily wears through. You could easily slip on a wet surface with these shoes.
