Love these shoes. The leather is nubuck, buffed or something at the toes and heels. In those spots it is darker, smooth and shiny. The rest is a light sandy khaki shade. It's a very cool effect and I think it will become more pronounced as they are worn. This shoe uses Euro sizes. In US sizes, I am on the small end of 8. I ordered a 39, same size as my Birkenstocks. The Eccos are just a bit too big, but I stuck an arch-support type insole in there to take up room and that worked. I marked them true-to-size because the conversion says 8 to 8.5 and that's what they are, but if you are on the smaller side of 8 you might prefer 38s. They were comfortable from day one. On day two I wore them all day and was still strutting at the end of the day and not even a twinge or a pinch anywhere! They have a softer walk than most heels, a nice muffled thump instead of bangbangbang. The no slip thingy on the sole works great. The lacing eyelets are on the inside of the shoe so they don't show. The finish on the leather is delicate, though. Apply a nubuck/suede protector after you decide to keep them but before you wear them outdoors.

I love these shoes! They are super comfortable out of the box. They run true to size, and width, provide good arch support and the way they fit like a glove reminds me of Born shoes. I wear them all day at work and my feet feel just fine when I get home. These are great shoes!

First things first, these had to go back for my being truly between sizes, otherwise, the camel color is a great neutral beige and this is a sleek looking boot/shoe. These run very large. I usually wear 5½ dress shoes, 6 casual. The 36 size in these were huge, but had room for thicker socks and an insert, so good if that is what you do, the 35 fit with stocking feet, but had no room for error and on my feet, they hit the ball of my feet too close to my big toes to last long on my feet. Maybe Ecco is not the brand for me, but these are great looking shoes that I wish fit me well enough to keep.
