I was looking for a bootie to wear w/ jeans and skirts and tried these on not w/ the intent of purchasing but only because they were really the only ones in this style I happened upon in person and I wanted to get a general idea of what the style would look like on me - well, I ended up loving these in particular and purchased them. I find them very cute w/ skirts and very comfy. I am usually an 8, but sometimes a 7.5 and I tried these in the 38 and they were perfect. I'd say if you're an 8/sometimes 8.5 try the 39. The toe is round enough to be comfortable, but not so round that they look goofy. They are snug around the ankle but not uncomfortable for me and for the look, I like that there is not a gap at the opening. I've gotten several compliments already, including my husband who normally has no opinion on such matters unless it's intense dislike.
Brands I'd also recommend: Naturalizer, Aerosoles, Born, Sofft

These boots are very stylish and comfortable. I have been very successful with ECCO shoes so I thought I would try the boots! I wear a 39 in shoes so I bought the boots in a 39. They fit great from the first time I put them on and look fabulous with slacks or jeans. I highly recommend them.

These boots are really great looking, simple and stylish and I wanted very much to keep them. The only problem was that the heel is really 2 1/2 inches high and I often have trouble with anything higher than 2 inches. I really tried with these, but they wear not comfortable for me. The leather is beautiful.
