Look, I'm not going to try to claim that these are worth the money you'll spend on them. This is a serious investment for a pair of shoes you only wear for the 3-5 hours you play golf. But for those who are golf obsessed, these are about as comfortable and stable a shoe as you can find. I never got to wear any of the Footjoy Classics before they were discontinued, but these Eccos are continually compared to the Classics. Ecco certainly got the small details right with this shoe. The tongue is gusseted, so that it doesn't move (a common complaint of mine with other shoes), and it also provides a seemingly snugger fit. The leather sole makes these easy to clean after a round; just be sure to tighten your spikes before you wear them for the first time, and periodically - they loosen far more frequently than do the Qfit or Tri-lok systems. I also like that while they were plenty wide enough to fit my slightly flat and wide feet, they were not so wide as to be sloppy after the first few wears. That's one of my main complaints about similar looking Footjoy shoes. I did not like that accessories like laces and sole inserts are not available for this shoe. It would be great if you could replace these. The laces are great; the tips are metal, making these very easy to lace up if they come out. The insole is specifically designed for traction and comfort - replacing it with a generic insole seems like losing some of the functionality of the shoe itself. These were comfortable out of the box, but did require some break in to be comfortable walking 18. I didn't find these shoes particularly supportive in terms of arch support - they are good, for sure, but not especially so. I wear a 12 in Nike and Adidas golf shoes. My left foot is a true 12, my right is closer to an 11.5. I wear a 45 in these (I know European sizing was one of my biggest concerns prior to ordering these), and they are comfortably snug. If you put a premium on your golf equipment, you won't be disappointed in these. I'm coming from Adidas 4.0s, and these were in a completely different echelon of stability, while remaining comfortable and waterproof.

This shoe is rated highly on the ECCO website and the ECCO store in Palm Beach Gardens recommended it highly so my husband spent $400 for what we thought would be a long lasting pair of leather golf shoes, only requiring replacement of the cleats, similar to the FootJoy's or Florsheim's he'd had in the past. What a surprise we received yesterday after we had hit a few buckets of balls. The shoes are about 2-3 years old but my husband only played about 20 times in them. The last time we had played was about a year ago. So he didn't notice anything when he put them on but when he took them off we were flabbergasted at the way they were falling apart. The first thing we noticed was the heel, which "looks" like it has layers of leather, is actually just a veneer covering up an artificial material. The veneer was coming off on both shoes. Then we saw that the leather sole was also separating from the rest of the shoe. The "stitches" in the sole are actually fake. They only go through the sole itself, not attaching the sole to anything. The "glue" that was holding the sole to the shoe had apparently deteriorated and was separating. We also noticed some kind of artificial filler strip running along the edge of the sole that had deteriorated and was breaking apart. This wasn't all. We were flabbergasted at these shoes as we had thought they were so highly rated, Pros use them, etc. I noticed the leather sole didn't even run the full length of the shoe, it stopped at the front of the heel and was lifting off the rest of the shoe. I took a bunch of pictures of the shoes and today we brought them into the ECCO store to see what they would do. We expected a replacement or credit due to multiple defective materials that was clear in both shoes. These were expensive shoes! The shoe salesman said he couldn't do a thing except to give me a mail back bag to "request" warranty consideration. So we put them in the bag and mailed them today. I hope to come back to this review and update the results of the mail back. I have pictures but can't see where to show them.

Well first let me say if you are thinking about buying only one pair of these shoes that is a mistake. These are the only halfway decent pair of golf shoes that you can get at this incredibly low price, three pairs should last you a solid five months if you golf rarely. Out there on the course these shoes really just could not stand the wear and tear of competitive golfing. To get shoes that last you will need to break the bank a little. These however are decent while they last, and are cheap as dirt. Overall they are great shoes. Also they are a pretty good choice for soccer

I'd also recommend: Ralph Lauren

I have worn Foot Joy classics for 20 years. These surpass them in every aspect. Bought a pair, went to Scotland and walked every day for 8 days, no complaints at all. Great shoes and they clean up well.

The most comfortable shoes that I have owned. These were super soft right out of the box, and I walked 18 the next day and they were just perfect. Note that these feel a little heavy, especially if you transition from Adidas Tour 3.0 (as I did), but it is because of the solid construction. It is built like a tank, with a leather sole and cleats that are so easy to clean. And to top it all, they look like a million bucks.
