Alejandrina Mejia and Mariela Rovito founded eberjey, "joy" in an obscure Nigerian dialect, in 1996. Born out of a shared belief that clothing worn close to the heart should express happiness, love, and confidence - all the things that make a woman truly beautiful - eberjey strives to craft a line of carefully designed, pretty pieces in joyful colors and patterns that flatter real bodies and feel good, too.

Eberjey started with their innovative Boy Short, also known as the French Brief, that soon grew to be a "must have" for lingerie drawers everywhere. Eberjey was the first to bridge the divide between the bikini and thong. Demand for this new style of sexy yet comfortable underwear grew and so did eberjey. Based on their unequivocal success, eberjey was able to expand their line to include bras and bralets, thongs, camis, chemises, pj sets, and a variety of underpinnings in luxurious (and forgiving) stretch mesh nylon, exceptionally soft Pima cotton, and other extremely wearable fabrics.
