Drew's Julie...better than slippers! I have tried 2 other pair of drew shoes as I have a wide (7 1/2 WW) foot however they were tooo wide (never had that happen to me before) or just too ugly. These are cute (bought the grey color), comfortable and my teenage daughters love the look of them. Feel like slippers, can be worn without socks if you want and enough cush on the bottom to keep my feet from being tired after walking a lot. Don't know how they will clean up (fabric top) but it will be worth finding out.

The good and the bad... The shoe is not a pretty shoe. This shoe is for someone who has to have a soft, expandable type shoe. The top of the shoe covers more of your foot than most other shoes. I needed that because I have 1 foot that swells greatly during the day. The shoe slipped on my heels in the a.m. but at night I could wear it ok, not great.

I had hoped that this would be THE dress shoe that I've needed for a long time. It's not. It's very comfortable. In fact, it feels like a slipper. Problem? It looks like a slipper. There's just too much shoe to wear for a dressy event. I'm still looking...

Bought these for my mother-in-law. She's Al Bundy's nightmare. Finally followed my advice & is totally ga-ga over these. Has fluid retention due to heart disease. Even her Doctor is pleased that she's wearing these (non-binding). She's now the glamour gal at the nursing home.

Slippers masquerading as shoes - These shoes feel like slippers and look like slippers. There is no support at all. I can see their usefulness if you have certain types of severe foot problems. The white embroidery especially makes this shoe look like a slipper. It would be impossible to walk around the streets of NYC in this shoe for those of us who also find flip flops impossible in the city.

Bought these shoes on a whim and I would highly recommend them. I was going to Chicago on business and they were so comfortable and light weight. Went through the airport without the worry of redoing my strap or tie. After many hours my feet never hurt due to cushion insole and outer material, also my feet do swell after a long day and the shoe never cut into my foot they are extremely comfortable. They looked very stylish on which is necessary for business and upscale dinners. I never knew after walking 12 city blocks that I had shoes on.

From the reviews I have read it seems people are missing the point on how this shoe can be worn. True it is not a walking shoe, or mall shoe. It does look a bit like a slipper, of course slippers appear to be vogue on college campuses. As soon as I saw it I thought Opera, I am wearing these shoes to the Opera with a long black velvet coat, they are wonderful.
Brands I'd also recommend: I am new to Zappo so I do not have an answer to that.

These are very comfortable shoes, but as others have noted, they look like house slippers -- no getting around it -- and for that reason I think the price is a bit steep. I may just use a Magic Marker to ink out the white embroidery and that probably will help some.
